You can pick the highest rated service to help your argument, even that does not have him top 10. Composite has become the standard. Look at his 247 profile, they have a chart of his ranking over the last 2 years. You can ski on that graph. I would also question how up to date that Rivals rankings is that you are relying on. I know 247 just put out a new top 247. I am not sure if the others have put out their final rankings yet.

Regardless, did you see the guys ahead of him and a few spots below him on the Rivals chart? Every one of them are going to a major conference, most to top 25 programs. To act like this kid is somehow sub par is crazy thinking IMO. He is a top end athlete at his position, and has been awarded with All American accolades for his performance his senior year by a few major publications.

I believe it will be close to 50/50 until Harbaugh goes to the NFL or Dantonio retires.

I wouldn't bet against that, but I feel like Harbaugh will likely dominate the rivalry. IMO, MSU better win this year, because it may be several years before they have a team that won't be a big underdog to Michigan. Again, just my wishful thinking. We'll see if it happens.

WHY? Michigan has 2 higher rated tackles on board. I have no idea if they are in on any others. Like I said 247 has him at 54, which is not bad. You do have to consider they have the #4 and the #22 OTs according to 247. It would make sense that they feel they only need 2 OTs in this class and Swenson's scholarship would be better used at another position.

My statement all along has been that this kid isn't some kind of throw away athlete. For some reason, mostly many of my fellow Michigan fans, think the kid is someone that just isn't good enough for Michigan. I keep hearing that the kid didn't work hard enough, or improve enough this past season. There is NOTHING I've seen that says the kid didn't have anything but an incredible senior year. USA Today and Max Preps both ranked him among their top ten Offensive Lineman in the entire country for the 2015 season.

He was the first one to commit to this class, and he still ranked among the best OL in the country (is there really a noticeable difference between the 10th ranked and the 25th ranked OL's anyway?) Hopefully we find out the kid wasn't as good as advertised, or he simply did something bone headed, and that is why Michigan cut him loose. Right now, it just looks really bad on Harbaugh and Michigan.

That actually doesn't make any sense. Unless they're changing positions on some other guys, they are pretty thin at OT. The move doesn't make much sense.

The last 5 years, Michigan State got 12 recruits with offers from Michigan. Not very many. Has very little to do with Michigan being down.
I'm not saying Michigan being down has much to do with beating MSU in recruiting (we've been MSU in recruiting almost always), it has to do with the product on the field. Michigan being bad netted pretty much everyone in the B10 an extra win for a few years there that they wouldn't have had with a health Michigan program in place.

My pt was they have 2 signed at OT that are higher. There maybe more pressing needs. The bone headed argument makes 0 sense. They offered him a preferred walk-on position. If he was such a bad kid, why would they do that?

Possible. I do not know their depth chart. It is quite possible they feel he projects better to OG. I was merely pting out that the ranking does not tell the whole story. You have a top 50ish tackle. Most schools would take that guy, but you might not if you have 2 top 25 kids already. This goes to 1 of my critiques of rankings services. Take QB as an example. You can take 3 5 star guys at QB, but only 1 can play. That means its highly unlikely you will ever get that value out of them.

Very good point. It's hard to know exactly what's going on in terms of how they're shuffling their depth chart.

That said, unless it comes out that this kid did something seriously stupid, that's incredibly shitty on michigan to wait until 2 weeks before signing day to tell this kid that the school he was planning on attending for almost 3 years now issn't gonna happen. Now he has to reconsider things on the fly and try and basically figure out an entirely new direction for his life.

I love Harbaugh and like his outside the box antics on the recruiting trail. I can't stand pulling an offer two weeks before signing day, especially when the player has been committed since 2013 and turned down an Alabama offer during this time.
I realize NCAA football is a what have you done for me lately business, but the kids giving their word are teenagers and this is their future.

Props to turning around the program (hopefully), but I'd rather do it the right way instead of cutting bait with kids you offer scholarships to

That's what I said. Ain't nobody got time nor the fucks to give to spend an hour listening to that.
I always wonder who listens to those things regularly -- the same for most of the shows on ESPN now. I like sports....I don't like sports THAT much to listen to a couple of people I know nothing about give me their opinions for an hour.

I'm a die hard michigan fan and I think that is just shady unless there is something not being reported. Maybe it will get cleared up after the signing day

I should also point out Michigan just lost two more commits today from 3 star kids. So that's 3 more spots that opened up. This is going to be a heck of a couple weeks if our class size is expected to be 27+. On a positive note, average star ranking is creepin' up.

As MI fans, I say we own it. I'm owning it. This is a business, not Chuck E Fucking Cheese. Nothing shady about it. It's every HC job to stack the program w the best players who want to play at your school. Maybe these kids just aren't as good as originally thought. Until kids are forced to commit to the schools they commit to without switching, it's fair game. Don't hate the player, hate the game.

Just win baby!

What a supremely douchey response. What Harbaugh did is definitively shady. He's a scumbag who doesn't give a shit about the kids he coaches.

That's your obsessive opinion. Also ironic coming from a Bucks fan.
