Wonder how many game say a Rick Nash would have gotten on the exact same hit?

So a repeat offender (Ference) with a blatant elbow to the head gets one game and Gryba (with a clean sheet) gets two on what many consider to be a clean body check?

Something is rotten in the state of Shanaban.

He was already taking his career in his hands suspending a Bruin (Jacobs doesn't take kindly to that). Didn't want to push his luck.

So, are the Montreal police going to press charges on Gryba for this hit like they did on Chara for the hit on Patches?

History has shown... he'd get nothing.

Shanahan himself?

Oh, God I hope so.

The only thing I can think of he is going to say something about him being in a vulnerable situation or something like that. Other wise I have no idea.

can't help but think this is one of those situations where Shanahan felt if he didn't hand out something, the Habs would have been pissed and gone out and try to take out someone on the Senators.

I'm sure that factored into his decision (as well as the rabid Montreal fan base). I hope Eller has a quick and full recovery, but I don't agree with this decision at all.

Me either....seeing it again it was a legal hit. Considering what Ference did vs the Leafs seems like a lot of hypocrisy from Shanny

You could fix that real fast. Give any player that takes someone out a minimum of 10 fucking games and that would stop that bullshit.

That should have NOTHING to do with it. Maybe that's why fans at the Bell Centre act the way they do, screaming for a penalty every time a Hab gets checked. Who's calling the game the refs or the Habs fans.?

I hope Eller makes a quick recovery too.
