going off tangent a little.......this is why i like to read stuff from Greg Cossell.....cause he watches so much of the 'game speed'. while he may not be accurate on everything, he bases his opinions on the actual games. after watching so many tapes over so many years, he can see the differences.
Indeed a very good piece. This is what was driving me crazy when people were claiming Moss ran a 4.4 a month or two ago.......because of all the false and exaggerated reports these days, people don't realize what an insanely fast - basically unrealistic - time that is. The very best sprinters can maybe pull that off if they're in perfect shape.....Moss is old and coming off a huge layoff.
This article was terrible because it didn't answer his own question about why Wright had a slow forty at the combine. It has been widely reported that "early hand movement" caused the electronic timing to start prematurely when Wright ran at the combine. And why did guys run in the 4.3's at the combine? They didn't because it isn't possible? Umm, ok.
