I say the 98 Yankees .... I don't think any team in history would a beat that team in a 7 game series... I know baseball can be unpredictable sometimes, but that team had it all ... I don't think that lineup had a weakness from top to bottom, GREAT pitching staff also ...

2001 Dbacks. Fuck anyone that disagrees.

lol ... I loved the 2 headed monster of Johnson and Shilling ... That was one of the deadlier 1-2 punches in league history ... I don't think their offense was potent enough though to be considered the GOAT .. They were a good team though for sure..

71 Oriolesnd their 4 20 game winners
probably not even the best Orioles team of all-time... I'd say the 69 and 70 squads were better.

I'd probably say '98 Yanks with the '01 Mariners just behind. Yeah they shit the bed in the ALCS, but it's hard to discount a team with a 116-46 record that outscored opponents by 300 runs. Not to mention they won their division by 14 games over a 102 win A's team. Mariners position players were worth 50.6 WAR that year, getting strong seasons from Edgar/Ichiro/Olerud/Boone/Cameron and others.

As a life-long suffering Mariners fan i appreciate the M's being mentioned, that was a special year, they just fell flat like you said... Good team that year, just not enough offense when it was all said and done...

Either the 1904 or 1994 WS winner. Don't remember which team won it all in those years though.:D
