Actually he won a SB two years prior and then spent one year as Packers GM before leaving and turning a losing Redskins franchise into a winner. Your grasp of history is really bad.

No, he didn't win anything after 67 and his record with the Redskins (7-5-2) was mediocre at best. He also never had to deal with free agency or the salary cap which are intended to destroy modern football dynasties. Lombardi had the luxury of having full contractual control of his roster until he didn't want to.

I gotta put Belichick #1. I get the nostalgia for Lombardi/Brown/Madden/Gibbs/etc. for the #1 spot and don't get me wrong, those guys were legends... but what Bill has done is just insane. He's somehow built a version of the Yankees in the NFL... with a salary cap.

I would also have to put Belicheck at #1 for what he has done. I would put Bill Walsh somewhere in the top 5. Too bad he burned himself out and couldn't stay longer

Head to head in the super bowl... Pederson 1 Hoodie 0

compared to your example... Brady 1 Urlacher More than 1

So are you saying you'd take Pedersen over 6x SB HC and current champ?

That was the Redskins first winning record since 1954(15 years). When he took over at Green Bay he led them to their 1st winning record in 12 years. He never had a losing season. 10 total years as head coach, 5 championship. He done alright.

I have forgotten more about football than you'll ever know. Vince Lombardi was great in his era, Belichick is better and has done it in a far more difficult era to maintain excellence.

The end.

Only knock against Belichick is that it took 6 years to get rolling.

You are a Patriots homer that doesn't know as much about football as you think you do. All you ever do is kiss Belichick's and Brady's asses on here. Learn some humility Rex as you aren't the smartest man in the room except when you are talking politics which is your strong suit.

His record as Browns head coach was 36-44. Yep a real genius.

He had things going in the right direction in Cleveland for a season and then the wheels came off when he cut Bernie Kosar.

Also, let's not forget the rings Belichick has from his days as a DC in NY

Remind us how many HCs have 6 SBs.

Yeah I can see where taking 6 years to get #1 really tarnished his career.

Belichick and Brady are the greatest coach and QB in NFL history and acknowledging that isn't kissing ass, it's just realizing the truth.

Speaking of kissing ass, has Aaron Rodgers managed to get that new lackey....... err, I mean head coach in Green Bay fired yet?

6 in 18 years. Lombardi 5 in 7 years.

* Lombardi's were not SB but Championships.

How would you like to be a Jets fan nowadays? Since writing his resignation letter to them on a cocktail napkin in 2000, all BB has done is win 16 division titles, 9 conference championships and 6 SB's. That's gotta sting :heh:

Had he been going in the right direction he wouldn't have been fired.
