Good question.
In `13, LJP was our backup C.
In `14, Max missed 10 games. We used JLP (then he was waived as an injury settlement), then used Shilling-IIRC, he IR'd, then used Patrick Lewis-had a tough game or 2, then resigned LJP who started 1 game I think, then a surprise happened. Pat Lewis took over the starting C position until Max came back and did pretty good. We won those last 6 games in regulation. Max came back for the playoff run.
Anyway, I may be wrong on some of this, but that is how I remember and it is an illustration of the woes we have had on the OL.
Soooooooooo, PL is probably #1 on the depth chart. Will will either go after interior OL in the draft or find a low cost FA. We need to replace out starting LG who signed today with the Jets. A former 1st round pick who never played to his draft status.

That'll be a nic change for the Jets. Usually players wait to get to us before not living up to their draft status

The "injuries is no excuse" thing is a load of crap. In the age of free agency and salary caps you can't just replace elite players. Especially in a the superbowl. Give Brady and the Pats credit for seeing the weakness and exploiting it but saying it didn't matter is ridiculous
Some experts have stated the Packers would have won the Super Bowl with a healthy Aaron Rodgers but the Packers didn't use it as an excuse. Seahawks fans have been whining about their injuries in the secondary ever since the loss to the Pats.

We get it you dont like seattle but please stay on topic.

Noone in here that roots for seattle mentioned the superbowl. you or someone like you brought it up as a swipe against seattle. A Jets, Broncos and SF fan defended seattles side of the argument,

Can you just please drop it, we get it, you think seattle sucks always will always have, this deals no diff. but let us try and talk about the news of the day not the news of a month ago.

Only when facing our D. He lit you guys up pretty good in a losing effort.

Pffttt....

Rationalize away.... He is soft. Witten and Gronk are real TE's

He's more concerned with dunking balls and avoiding contact....

So what happened here? Were the Saints just fed up with Graham or what?

Brady carved apart that vaunted Seahawks defense.

Seattle's D wasn't exactly healthy... Pass rush depleted, secondary with a couple scrubs and injuries... That's not good vs a legend like Brady... And of course he attacked the weakness... He's very smart with match-ups... In 2013 we didn't have any glaring weaknesses on D... In 2014 we did ...

Brady is very good on the big stage.

There were some reports that Brees thought Graham was taking plays off. There may have been bad blood between them.

Graham's numbers will likely drop, but he is a huge addition to the Seahawks.

Interesting stats here though:

Should be interesting to see how the Seahawks use him. I have to assume they will use him in a similar role to the Saints as he is a matchup nightmare in the slot and Luke Willson is capable of manning TE in those downs IMO. Zach Miller was primarily used as a blocking TE, even in passing downs, hopefully they don't waste Graham's ability by forcing him to pass block as much as Miller did.
