Report: Frank Gore angry at Jim Harbaugh | ProFootballTalk

Frank Gore was one of the few 49ers who played well in today’s loss to the Colts, running 11 times for 82 yards and catching two passes for 21 yards. Which leads to the question: Why did Gore only get 13 touches?

That may be the question Gore wanted answered when, according to Kevin Lynch of the San Francisco Chronicle, he was angry at coach Jim Harbaugh at the end of the game.

Lynch reports that Gore “had choice words” for Harbaugh near the end of the game, as Gore was taking the field toward the end of the 49ers’ 27-7 loss.

Gore would hardly be the first running back to get upset with his coach about how often he’s getting the ball, but if Gore and Harbaugh aren’t seeing eye to eye, that would be one more indication that things are not going well in San Francisco right now. Two weeks ago, after the 49ers opened the season with a win over the Packers, many NFL observers thought San Francisco was the best team in football. Now the 49ers have lost two in a row, by a combined score of 56-10.

Whatever is going wrong in San Francisco, the 49ers need to get it fixed in a hurry.

Things are starting to fall apart. Players are starting to go against Harbaugh. Not good.

Gore should be mad. Harbaugh stubbornly stuck to a losing proposition because Kaepernick is "his guy". Harbaugh has been patting himself on the back for a year now for "discovering" this guy and trading up to get him. He does not want to admit that the guy has some serious flaws that other teams have discovered. He should have gone back to the running game that was working but I believe his ego would not let him.

Garsh, glad you can see all those serious flaws. Serious flaws like: terrible receivers, bad play calling, no run game, etc etc.

Kap is fine and is gonna continue to be great. How many qbs look good when their #1 receiver cannot get 3 yards from the line of scrimmage or their #1 rb is average <2ypc (like Gore was until yesterday).

its easy guys go back to the Power running offense we had last year. I haven't seen us run those power plays since the regular season last year. harbaugh went with this pass happy offense.

Control the Clock and you win. Colts did to us what we did to people last year. They controlled the clock and our D got tired at the end.

Without Vernon Davis, the 49'ers might be the slowest team in the NFL on offense. Boldin is a solid WR, but he operates more like a normal TE would, nobody can stretch the field besides Davis.

Puts the offense in a tough position. Grounding and Pounding is great, however, it really takes its toll because you aren't going to get quick scores, and opens yourself up to mistakes.

Clearly, the 49'ers need to go back to their roots (Running the Football) - but right now, they seemed to have lost their identity.

I'm pretty sure it's Roman who calls the plays, not Harbaugh.

One the scoring drive yesterday we actually lined up and ran the damn ball from power formations. None of that RO or pistol crap that defenses have figured out. We got chunks of yards. But then quit running those plays. Ego with the coaching staff seems to be our biggest problem. Aldon admitted he had a problem and is going to fix it. Time for Harbaugh and CO to do the same.

Yes, but Harbaugh as HC needs to step in and say something.

Sure, but the script and game-plan are laid out the week before game. Rarely do coaches change the entire game-plan. No doubt Harbaugh should've readjusted or should have told Roman to readjust, but sometimes it's not that easy.

Not saying it is. Just that Harbaugh and the rest of the offensive coaches need to scrap this philosophy and get back to when people were praising our power run game. All the different formations we would run. The reason the team made it so far with Alex is because of our run game. Need to get back to it.

Are you fucking blind? Kaep is NOT fine and certainly not great. He looks lost out there, man. He makes one read, if that read is not open he is ready to run and if the running lanes aren't open, he panicks and makes bad throws. I'm not jumping ship but lets not fool ourselves. The injuries are piling up as well. Harbaugh needs to go back to running the damn ball and stop being cute. That shit isn't working.

Eventually, if you go one dimensional, and THAT is your sole dimension... you'll probably get beat too. That kind of offense won't work against a defense like Carolinas... who are dominant up front, but have a pretty awful secondary... they are going to have to throw it to beat that team. Other stout teams are going to give the 49'ers in their current state fits... starting with St. Louis on Thursday night...

That should be a very interesting game... It's kind of of odd, but San Francisco is in a borderline "Must Win" on Thursday night.
