Danny needs to use his MLE on some 2g depth and his biannual except on Larry Sanders for as long as mother f*cking possible.

Gotta update after the latest roster move:So now that the dust has settled a bit... here's at my interpretation of the C's tentative depth chart:
PG - Isaiah Thomas, Marcus Smart, Terry Rozier, Demetrius Jackson
SG - Jaylon Brown, Marcus Smart, Jayson Tatum
SF - Gordon Hayward, Jae Crowder, Jaylon Brown, Marcus Morris, Jayson Tatum
PF - Marcus Morris, Jae Crowder, Al Horford, Jordan Mickey
C - Al Horford, Ante Zizic
-----------
Let's say, for the sake of argument, the C's pick up one more serviceable back-up at PF/C (which they'll almost certainly do).
Good enough to beat Cleveland yet?
Strengths of roster - team offense, versatility, wing depth, perimeter defense
Weaknesses of roster - Rebounding, rim protection, front court depth

Feel a good bit better about the front court rotation after the additions of Morris and Baynes... rebounding and rim protection still a weakness of the C's, no doubt, but these are sensible moves.

I think Brown has some room to continue to develop his outside shot.I still want Sanders.
But they really need another SG. Preferably one who can shoot outside of 3 ft.
Sanders is under contract.....they signed him to a 2 year deal last year. Due to make 1.8 million.

I was actually pleasantly surprised with Brown's shooting this past season. 34% from 3 pt land isn't great... but that was supposed to be a weakness of his and he was a rookie after all... furthermore, he seemed to progress in this area as the season went on... and he made some clutch shots, too.
I don't think Marcus Smart will ever be a great shooter at this point.
Damn, didn't realize that.
Then Bad Danny fucked up last year.
I still want Sanders.

The Cas are fucked without a GM and James headed out the door next summer.....could be one epic cluster-fuck next season.

You may be right... don't read too much into my order there... heck, for much of last season, Amir Johnson was the starter... although that was clearly not the best lineup the C's could field.I think you'll see alot more of
IT
GH
Crowder
Morris
Horford
than you're thinking here.
that might be their best lineup.

G, thats why they signed Shane Larkin as a 4th and emergency PG. I think there 3Pt% will go up BTW. The issue is simply 2 things: ball rotation if Kyrie wants to ISO, and, will this crop including Kyrie play D like Crowder and Bradley. In the 4th quarter, we all know it will be Uncle Drews space. I really have high hopes for the Dancing Bear

Depth has definitely taken a hit... C's are light in the front court (basically sporting a 3 man rotation here). Have to think another body or two will be added. Also light in terms of lacking a true/traditional SG... although the C's have enough versatile guys to cover here.
Strengths of roster - team offense, go-to scoring, versatility, wing depth, perimeter defense
Weaknesses of roster - Rebounding, rim protection, front court depth, 3pt % shooting
If we're talking strictly about next season, I can't agree with you. C's lost:I think there 3Pt% will go up BTW.
If we're talking strictly about next season, I can't agree with you. C's lost:
- Avery Bradley
- Kelly Olynyk
- Jae Crowder
All of the above were in and around 40% 3pt shooters.
Yeah, Danny not at least getting Larry Sanders out of this deal hurts alot. He was exactly what they needed.
Rumor is they're interested in Bogut, who could be a really good fit here. Although I'm not sure how well he and Al fit together, but at least it's some depth.
