So, I guess Mozgov, Thompson, and JR Smith are in fact not superstars....

Some Cleveland fans (well maybe just the one) cannot make up their minds.

When Cleveland is winning, we got nonstop propaganda about how great Mozgov, Thompson, and Smith were.

Now, that Cleveland loses. Suddenly, they are labeled as the worst cast of characters ever assembled.

Make up your minds.
Thompson and Moz played their part. No Cavs fans can blame them. It was Cavs Guards that had problems. Also throw in LBJ just ran out of gas. Didn't play well(he tried I will give him some credit for that.)

This season was the "SEASON of INJURY".
It will not be remembered by who played...but by who did not play.

There was only one team in the NBA who never suffered any injury bad luck from the pre-season to the trophy.
That was Golden State. Not surprising, that helped them win it all.

The list of contending teams that suffered major stretches of time without key/star players is staggering.
We are not talking one game in the reg season. A lot of these guys missed weeks or key playoff games.

OKC- Durant, Westbrook
SA - Parker, Leonard
HOU - Howard, Beverly
CLE - Lebron, Irving, Love
POR - Wesley, Aldridge
MEM - Conley
CHI - Rose
LAC - Blake
WAS - Wall

That is off the top of my head. It probably is worse.
Golden State should count themselves as extremely fortunate to stay 100% healthy for 8 months.

LBJ says no team has made it with out 2 Allstars. Spurs had 1 Allstar last year and won.

Both teams had an easy run to the Finals. Cavs playing in The East and GS hitting injury affected teams. All teams they played lost their PG.Dont get me wrong West was still tough. GS had a great year and Congrats to them and I do give them credit but the 1 flaw in this run was they didn't play anyone at full strength. If they can win it next year I will be ready to call them a great team.

Give it to him, tho boards are valuable and we can work on his inside game

Question: If it turns out the Cavs can/will only bring back Love or Thompson, who do you want? Love will want a max deal and Thompson has earned himself a huge raise.

Call me blind, but I didn't see Love in any all star game last season.

So, who was the 2nd missing all star?

Keeping both Love and Tristan IMO will END UP being a mistake.
Both very useful players, but you can't tie up that much cash in 1 position.

If the Cavs want to sometimes plan to play small ball and use one or the other at C, then it could work.

Tough question but id say Thompson. Are defense was better with him on the floor and like you said Love will want max.

Hope we get both back or we replace Love with another good guy

Wbu?

Going into the playoffs I thought anything short of a Finals experience would be a failure and extremely disappointing... and that winning a title over whoever came out of the west in year 1 would be gravy. ... And that was before the Love and Irving injuries.

Congrats to the Warriors. They were the best team from day 1 straight through until yesterday and they deserve the title. Congrats @Hambombs and @Robotech

Do you want to provide any timeline context for this picture? ... because that place was completely full and chanting MVP when LeBron went out with 11 seconds.

Are you expecting them to stay and watch the Warriors trophy presentation?

Yeah, I think if it's one or the other, you keep Thompson. Love is unique because you don't usually get 10+ rebounds from a "stretch guy." Thompson brings great defense, gets just as many boards and while his offense is a work in progress, he'll likely get better. Love is unlikely to get better on defense.

Obviously, ideally the Cavs keep both. It'll likely come down to how deep into the luxury tax Gilbert is willing to go and what Lebron wants.

Great point. Hadn't looked at it like that.
