Giants' Olivier Vernon being Shopped

Overall, I don't see him in the top 25 offensive lineman on PFF grades. His cap hit was 6th in 2018. Definitely a very good player but it doesn't add up imo

Fair point. They had him as the 6th best guard in 2018, but if Corbett can come close to that sort of production, it's a home run for Cleveland.

HUGE upgrade. 46 pressures compared to Ogbah on getting 15 and that is on 82 fewer snaps...wow

For whatever reason, Rotoworld is calling this a huge loss for Cleveland. They also said Vernon was a massive disappointment who was subpar for the last two years. They've got some real knuckleheads working over there.

With only 11 games played, I suspect he got quite a bump from the last game of the year against Dallas when Dallas was playing backups on OL and he got 2 1/2 sacks and was in the backfield all day - he got almost 30% of his hits for the year in that one game (6 out of 21).

One thing to remember about Vernon is that he has been pretty good against the run in his career as well. He is an every down player. Does this offset how crappy he played last year and to an extent the year before??? Maybe if he gets healthy he improves again.

From week 6 through the end of the year, Vernon was the 11th highest graded EDGE player in the NFL, so it wasn't just a 1 game fluke.

Still got 46 pressures in 7 games. That is pretty good. Huge upgrade from Ogbah regardless

They drafted a guard in the 2nd round last year. If they hadn't, I don't know that this trade happens.

A lot of depth in the draft but there aren't many veterans on this team or really experienced guys. At some point you need veterans. A risk but the Browns DL was the biggest weakness on the team by a lot. We will see if it was worth it
