Oh no! Baltimore was only 40 miles away but back then it might as well have been a 1,000 miles. Folks from Baltimore did not like Washington DC area which is funny to me because Baltimore is the armpit of the world. LOL The Orioles and Colts were really good Redskins and Senators not. However, the Redskins were loveable (something they have lost since Gibbs 1.) No love lost between folks from Baltimore and Washington back in the day. As you can see I have not changed. LOL

Hell some people from Baltimore are just starting to root for the Terps in basketball because they have been recruiting in basketball.
Makes sense and thanks.

Why did Irsay move them to Baltimore? Was it a shock to the DC area and fans or did nobody care?
Did the Baltimore fans follow them to Indy or stay dormant until the Ravens?

Baltimore started to decline as a team as the 70s hit. The fans did not support the team. Memorial Stadium was not so hot and not in a great part of Baltimore. I think Indy made a sweetheart deal with Irsay and they did it like two little bitches. Never been a Baltimore fan but what the Irsay's did to Baltimore was wrong.

They kept the uniforms when they moved. No self respecting Baltimore fan was going to root for Washington .... or Indianapolis. In reality Modell did to Cleveland what Irsay did to Baltimore. The Browns had great fan support but couldn't get a stadium. Gov. Schaeffer had those plans ready to go in next to the baseball stadium.

Why don't you apply for the GM job...LOL

Snyder's job listing:

Must be the fall guy
Must say "yes"
Must agree with everything I say
Must be my shield in public

LOL!
You didn't offer that job to me which is good because I would have :pound::pound::pound::pound::pound::pound:

I would have done the same thing my brother did when he worked for Dan .... told him to fuck off.

A boss from my first job was a die hard Ravens fan. He apparently grew up a Colts fan in Baltimore. A few co-workers would always tell him that they saw Mayflower trucks out front of the building we worked in. He never laughed....now I know why.

Allegedly Tanya is running the show right? That is what Goodell said...LOL

I wonder what that would be like? I am sure every owner call has 33 call ins. Tanya represents the Commanders but there is another dial in number "listening" in,,,,

If you ever heard the stories of Dan not wanting workers (not FO) not looking at him when he walked by my brother can tell you they are true.

Not trying to be argumentative, seriously, but what learning curve are you talking about? Cole has been in the league for 3 years now and is 26 years old. He isn't a rookie in need of a mentor?

We needed depth. Bostic is a sub-standard player and if it was not for WSH, he would not be on an NFL roster. Rivera's affinity for him is strange for sure. Bostic was a human matador previously here in WSH. There is literally no reason to bring him back. Can he play ST? Does he bring coverage abilities or speed? The answers are no to all of those questions.
But Cole has never been asked to be the QB of the defense. That's Bostic's strength. He lined people up where they are supposed to be pre snap but just couldn't make the play. I think Bostic helps Cole in that area.

One of the problems with the D last year .... besides miscommunication in defensive backfield for the 25th year in a row is ....

gap integrity. I don't care whether it is HS or the NFL although even more important in the NFL. For the defense to work against the run everyone needs to hit their gap and at least get a stalemate. This team forever and with more than one DC has freelanced. Guys want to make a play, go to the wrong place and screw up the play. If nothing more than mentoring hopefully Bostic helps the DL and LBs do that better and to get Cole to get guys lined up correctly.

Pass defense is of course an entire different story. I think Davis might be best at it. Bostic no way. Cole - meh. I believe JDR is going to have the LBs (Holcombe and Davis) in zone most of the time.

What I am worried about most is pass rush. For zone to work pressure makes the QB react quicker.

I am hoping another years experience in this D and NOT having Landon play safety helps. Late in the year the team was so beat up. For a short while when they moved Collins they were playing well but then injuries hit.

I agree. If everyone does their job that should cut down on the big plays. I love Shaka, but I saw him do what Chase did last year and go wide to get after the QB instead of hold his gap and he left a gaping hole. That has to stop.

I get it. It's preseason, you're trying to make a play and make the team, but at some point you have to show discipline. If Jon can be a conduit it's a plus signing. If they are expecting him to make plays, they will be disappointed. Hope I'm wrong.

Being a Penn State fan I have seen a fair amount of Shaka. He has made it further than I thought he would. He has great bend, way more so than Young. That is fine if he is on a pass rush but if the tackle is there with him he needs to use his hand to push the tackle and dip inside. If it is a run he needs to respect his gap.

Of course they need the same from Young who is bigger and stronger than Toney and can toss the tackle easier. Sadly I think we don't see the real Chase until next year. Hope I am wrong.

Should hire him as an assistant LB coach...not sign him to the roster...LOL

True, but it was pretty well known he was looking to be a HC not an asst anymore when he signed with the Skins. That said. Lewis would've been a better HC than Spurrier, but that's not sayingf a whole lot.
