I've taken the approach of withholding judgment on Wentz until I see what he looks like during the regular season. I'm gonna do the same with the defense.

Ive been calling for a vet MIKE on this board for a while. It's one of the main reasons I didn't make a record prediction on @deanpet21 thread earlier.

I thought they would do something there. They really didn't. I don't count the Bostic move either.

I'm still gonna take a wait and see approach with the team in general. Big year for Ron. We could have plugged alot of holes with the money we are paying Wentz, but im sure they looked at the offensive film and saw a bunch of chunk plays that were left on the field because of Heinicke's limitations.

These same LB's were part of a top 5 defense two years ago, so like I said, I'm gonna wait and see what they look like vs. JAX.

That's fine but you have to admit the offense looks much more exciting this year than last.

I will be very disappointed and honestly kind of surprised if we aren't a very good offensive team. We better be good on offense because if we aren't we are looking at a top 5 pick next April.

I wouldn't go that far but I agree the offense should be better than the defense.

I could not care less "how exciting" the offense looks. They need to score and be consistent. Wentz has not been consistent in his career and is his own worst enemy. Perhaps he turns it around? The pundits and experts do NOT think so. I think our fans and FO are the only fans he has left. He looked average in pre-season as previously pointed out. Reply on Wentz has hurt two previous teams: Indy and Philly. Will we turn the trend around?

We have taken a step back on the OLine as well. People are forgetting that. Is Turner the guy? He has not shown it so far obviously.

It will all come down to defense IMO. Rivera did nothing to strengthen it. The LB and secondary fiascos are strange indeed.

I agree with the experts and see 7 or 8 wins.

Lol....it better be. We traded a 2nd and 3rd for Wentz and took on his 28m. Spent a 1st on a WR and our big signing last year was a WR.

Would you rather have Mayo over Bostic?
I can't recall a single play Mayo ever made for the Skins. Bostic does make tackles, but I read (I believe in the same article I read that said the Skins only have 4 LBs on the roster at present) that the Skins were thinking of using Bostic on 3rd dn because of his familiarity with the defense.

If that's true. I'm gonna flip a coin......if it comes up heads. I'm gonna pimp-slap my mom. If it comes up tails. I'm driving to the sheriff's station and I'm punching the first sheriff I see in the throat. The very very bad outcome of either of those scenarios doesn't equal the bad in the idea of Jon Bostic playing on passing downs for the Skins.

As for your question. Imma say preferring Mayo is like getting kicked in the nuts by someone wearing a steel-toe boots. While preferring Bostic is like getting punched in the nuts by that someone who's wearing brass knuckles.

Wish we would have gotten Mayfield instead. Gave up way too much for a player that nobody else wanted.

That's where I'm at 8 or 9 wins. We're basically on the same page. Lol

Pickett and Willis looked real good in preseason. What's done is done. I'm gonna support Wentz until he gives me a reason not to.

Ioanidis was a captain last weeak for the Panthers. He appeared to be in great shape. Going to miss him.
Ioannidis played for Rhule at Temple. There is a connection there. Good for Iron man.

I know you are kidding here and of course we would all love 12 wins. However Washington has not won more than 10 games since 1991 when they last won the Super Bowl.

What is the number of wins that would make you happy? I guess my approach is what is realistic. I'd be disappointed with 7 or less wins, meh with 8 wins, not too bad with 9 wins and probably flog the dog with 10. This team would have to have a lot of things go right to win 11 or more.

I agree for sure.

That is why I am not understanding the crowd that claims we will win 10+ games. It hasn't happened in 30 years. No beating a dead horse, but Rivera and Wentz are NOT the duo to get the team to 10+ wins at all.

I never said 10 isn't possible. I said 12 isn't very likely at all. I am between 8-10 depending on Wentz, and injuries.
