They tried like hell to get Stafford. Stafford didn't want to come here. We offered more than the Rams did, but Detroit did him a solid. Ron tried like hell to get Russ. Russ didn't want to come here.

If Pickett and Willis blow up, sure we'll look bad, but I like Dotson. I think by trading down we turned those picks into Robinson, Howell and someone else if I'm not mistaken.

Should have taken Herbert, but I don't recall anyone on this board or anywhere in the moment calling for the Skins to do that over Chase. If anything there was more Tua talk. Hindsight is 20/20.

But with this schedule if he goes 6-11 or 5-12 it will be. If they start off super slow, they might want to get Wentz outta there to save our 2nd round pick next year. I forgot how many games Wentz has to start for that 2023 3rd to become a 2nd?

I was really hoping they would go after James Bradberry and bring back Landon. Now it's on him(Rivera). Same with Jay Gruden. He kept hiring those terrible DCs because he was deathly afraid of hiring his replacement. Sadly, him not bringing in a credible DC is what got him fired imo.

Cousins, Garçon, Jackson, Reed, Thompson, Crowder, Trent......and he refused to hire a real DC

With Rivera it seems like he as an attitude of he knows best and he knows something no one else does when it comes to the roster. Okay, well it's your ass if you're wrong.

Just have to wait and see. I refuse to kill Rivera, Wentz, or the defense before the year even starts. I want to be able to root for this team. I want to be able to root for Wentz.

I dont want to be the guy who's takes on this board don't age well because the Skins are kicking ass this year.

We will have plenty of time to bury the coaches and team as the year progresses. I've stated in other threads that I think we are gonna get scored on. I also think we have a chance to be a top 12 to 15 offense which should give us a chance based on our schedule.

The defense just can't be bottom 5 again or JDR gets fired and Rivera will have to face questions about his ability to construct a functional roster.

Jacksonville will be a good test to see where we are at. They spent a lot of money on their roster and moved an incompetent coach who the players loathed out of the building.

Lets get the history straight. Rivera came here with Dan's golden boy Haskins and a broken Smith.

He tried to get good QBs who did not want to come here. So he signed a vet who hurt his hip on a water slide a week before the season and then finished it off in the 1st half of the first game.

I said this before and I will say it again, I don't know what Wentz will do. But he is better than Heinicke. I like that they got Howell and work with him.

Where was RR supposed to get this great QB? EVERYone though Chase Young was the correct pick that first draft. He has under performed and got hurt.

There has not been ONE coach here since Gibbs that anyone has believed in .... maybe Marty but we know how that went.

I am not trying to tell anyone how to root for the team but as a fan I am going to root for them to do well. If Wentz flops I'll be looking at Howell.

It depends on how the 6-11 or 5-12 season happens. Injuries' or poor play. Wentz has to play 70% of the snaps for it to be a 2nd round pick. IF what happened last year happens this year(losing QB1 in the 2nd qtr in Week1) and we go 5-12 or 6-11, Is RR let go? I dont think so. Like what sportster said where was RR supposed to get this great QB? He has had a horrible QB situation since he has arrived. Hopefully that changes.

I'm right there with you. Haskins wouldn't look at the laptop on the sidelines, broke covid protocol twice I think. Smith was done by the time Ron got here. Forgot about the waterside. Lol.

Wentz has everything he needs. McLaurin, Samuel, Dotson, Logan, Cole Turner, Robinson, AG, McKissic.......I want to give him a chance. I'm on record as not being a fan of the Wentz trade, but he is a clear upgrade. On paper this is probably the best offense we've had since 2016.

Wentz has zero excuses and if he can't move this team down the field, he deserves all the shit he's gonna get.

my issue with wince is the trade , . he is a mid level pro qb but so is KC and he wasnt good enough for the fan base so why trade for it ?

but anyone saying giving up those draft picks so we can have a better qb then falco is just a foolish standard

the standard should be a qb that can take us to multiple super bowls

That will be interesting, lets hope that is not the case. I believe Howell should be the #2 if Wentz gets hurt or if Wentz plays really bad. I cant see Wentz getting benched after these first two games.

And again I will say that although we all want the team to go to the Super Bowl this organization hasn't sniffed it since 1991. There needs to be some reality in in expectations.
