Evidently Baalke said he'd be used as a slot corner, which is used in 60% of the defensive formations. Fine. But the guy just had foot surgery and may, MAY, be back for training camp. In the first round? Didn't seem like the line outside his door was all that long.

I love Ward. While 49ers have two safeties, Ward has the ability to play FS, SS, cornerback and in the slot. He can play in different packages and just give the 49ers another outstanding coverage guy, plus his ball skills are PLUS
