Michael Crabtree - WR - 49ers

Michael Crabtree (PUP, Achilles') returned to 49ers practice on Wednesday, but didn't run routes at full speed and "was noticeably cautious" about leaping and landing for difficult catches.

"It's a roller coaster being away from the game for so long. I'm just happy to be out there," Crabtree said afterwards. Crabtree still isn't technically on the 49ers' 53-man roster because he hasn't been activated. The 49ers are expected to activate him later this month. An exact return date won't be known until Crabtree is able to ramp up what he can do on the practice field.

Mario Manningham - WR - 49ers

Mario Manningham is not listed on the 49ers' Week 10 injury report.

Manningham will likely be active for Sunday's game against the Panthers, and it's not inconceivable that he would get the start over Kyle Williams. Fantasy owners in 14- and 16-team leagues ought to consider picking him up.

Mario Manningham - WR - 49ers

49ers OC Greg Roman has termed Mario Manningham (knee) as "day to day" even though he's not on the Week 10 injury report.

Manningham is almost certainly going to be active against the Panthers, but will be on a snap count. Kyle Williams might get one more "start" opposite Anquan Boldin. Manningham should eventually have some fantasy value for an offense positively starved for help at receiver, but he's a WR5/6 for Week 10.

Aldon Smith - LB - 49ers

Speaking Thursday, 49ers DC Vic Fangio confirmed OLB Aldon Smith will be active for Sunday's game.

NFL.com's Mike Silver reported last week that it was "no guarantee" Smith would suit up against the Panthers, but it was always hard to believe the Niners would hold out their best pass rusher. We'd guess Smith comes off bench, but plays the game's most critical snaps. He should be back in the starting lineup by Week 11.

I think MM is slightly behind anticipation... no need to rush him for this gm I suppose or maybe just limited routes....

Surprised Aldon will see action but it be smart to limit him as well...

Bummed about Tank as well, but like all this damn reinforcements, health first... besides, its the NO game I want our weapons to really go at it...
