I was a second round pick by the Giants. I was an All-Star. I attended Crenshaw HS, made the ASG as a Giant and then went on to play for two more teams in my brief 6 year ML career. I was traded to the Padres in the deal that brought back Dave Dravecky. Sadly, I passed away in 2006 at the age of 45 in a house fire.

Signed as an undrafted free agent in 1980.
Was not known for his defense, but is probably most known for his defense.
Was part of one of the best win-win trades ever.

It's like a damn riddle....Kevin Mitchell and his one-handed catch? We got Swift, Mike Jackson, and someone else for him.

Mitchell is the answer, and his one-handed catch was what I was referring to.

He was part of the Mark Davis, Mark Grant, Keith Comstock and Chris Brown for Dave Dravecky and Craig Lefferts trade. The VERY next year, Davis won the CY for San Diego and Mitchell won the MVP for the Giants.

(and yes. I was quite proud of that clue)

Drafted in the 5th round.
Has zero career saves.
Has, arguably, the biggest save in World Series history.
