Following the Oriole template for the last 60 days, the Orioles SP carries a lead into the 6th. Then surrenders the lead even though still pitching well, the Orioles cannot buy a run after the 4th inning.

Then the BP gives up the game late and the Orioles go down 1-2-3 in the last inning. As usual in a big must win series AJ is no where to be found at the plate. Also just as predictable, Wieters can't find a ball sitting on a T to hit.

But hey. The Orioles have a red hot player in Valencia. Just that Buck won't play the guy except against LHP. Even though he's the only guy that steps to the plate that looks like he actually wants to play the damn game.

Nobody. But we have 2 arbitration years to figure that out. I just don't see Wieters's bat ever coming around to the hype. He's a .250 hitter with 20 hr power. That isn't bad, but it's not sign at all costs. Wieters will be going on 30 by the time he is a free agent, so his best days will be behind him. I try to sign him to a 3 year contract at 7.5M a year and buy out 2 of his arbitration years. If he doesn't want to take that or Boras plays hardball, then just use arbitration for 2 years and see ya later after that. Some team will overpay for him, and regret it.
