Final game of the season.

Can't expect much more than the Patriots have given all season.

Patriots OC Alex Van Pelt said Drake Maye will start in Week 18 against the Bills.
A loss would secure the No. 1 overall pick for the Patriots in the 2025 NFL Draft, but Van Pelt added at Thursday’s presser that they are “playing the game to win the game.” The Patriots could very well escape with a win at home, as the Bills are expected to sit most of their starters with the division already won and their playoff spot secured. Maye is dealing with a hand injury and was listed as limited in Wednesday’s practice, but this appears to be a minor issue.

This loss will assure we are number 1. Nothing but a loss is acceptable!

Will the Patriots be stupid enough to play a good game today, upset the Bills, and lose the chance for #1 pick? Seems like it would be something Mayo would try to do to put a closing ribbon on a pathetic season.

Start every set of downs with a jumbo offense and run it right up the middle or,
Through every pass downfield 50 yards or more

Scorched earth or absolute failure!
Problem is if that works they lose #1 pick, a fitting end to the season. I’ll take absolute failure, thanks!

Patriots declared CB Christian Gonzalez, TE Hunter Henry, RB JaMycal Hasty, G Lester Cotton, G Sidy Sow, and TE Mitchell Wilcox inactive for Week 18 against the Bills.
Gonzalez and Henry are both dealing with injuries and will miss the season’s final game. The Bills will be resting many of their top offensive playmakers, so the loss of Gonzalez shouldn’t be a huge issue on Sunday. One name not listed here is Joe Milton, who is active on Sunday and could see additional reps if the team wants to limit Drake Maye’s potential injury risk. A loss for the Patriots would secure them the top pick in the NFL draft, so there’s some thought that seeing what Milton looks like in game action could be of interest to them this weekend.

And to a bunch of QB needy teams that might be willing to give up their first round pick to get him. Just like Maye, he'll be cheap for another three years.

As a rule I'm not a fan of tanking. I just don't think it's fair play. But playing against a team that ain't playing its starters isn't fair. Winning does nothing for Buffalo, but losing helps them by hurting a rival. The Pats should not be puking all over the gift the giants bestowed on them.

Patriots should try their best to win this game.
That should get us a number one pick?
