It's really amazing that the Giants are doing this ceremony for a relief pitcher, but it just shows how big of an impact he had on this organization.

Last day of the season, I thought I'd some a little more on the game day thread.

Cain seems to be throwing a great game today. And that's with Blackmon, Reyes, Gonzalez, Arenado, Dickerson, Rosario and Descalso in the lineup.

GREAT performance from Cain. It's only 1 game, but that is extremely encouraging for Cain going into the offseason.

Affeldt's last appearance. I wonder how he's doing emotionally? Probably feels somewhat like the first big league appearance.

I didn't really say further because no one was around lol. Someone in the dugout is controlling the music, because all their songs are different.

Posey had "Watch Me" (terrible), and "I'm the Man"

Pagan had Rico Suave, which is just hilarious because I think of Pagan when I hear that song.

Affeldt's last appearance. I wonder how he's doing emotionally? Probably feels somewhat like the first big league appearance.

He couldn't hold it together in the pre-game, I'm sure he's all over the place. Thanks JA!

Yup.

Not a QS, technically, but he exits 2015 on a high note. I still want him penciled as the #5, but I am much more confident now that we may get 90% old Cain next year. And that is huge.

JA is just coming into the game. I gotta say, I would have preferred to see him end his career as a PH. It would match his personality, and I can't imagine his head is in the game enough to pitch well.

Not a QS, technically, but he exits 2015 on a high note. I still want him penciled as the #5, but I am much more confident now that we may get 90% old Cain next year. And that is huge.

It is a huge start and I feel better about him for 2016. When I first saw his pitch count and the innings worked, my first thought was "what kind of lineup did Walt throw out there?" When I realized it was his normal lineup, I realized this wasn't just end of the season numbers for Cain.

He went long, but was powerful. He will probably take a year off, but then I really expect him to take a studio job somewhere. Dude has the mic skillz.
