I really don't mean to be the Debbie Downer here but is there any reason to believe that Burkhead won't simply get hurt again? Even when he hasn't been "hurt" he was dealing with nagging injuries.

Unfortunately the bigger need is at RB right now. Let's just hope he can stay healthy. Sony will get the majority of carries and unless it's a short yardage White will see the majority of 3rd downs. I'm thinking Burkhead is more on an insurance blanket right now?

I understand he lost 40 pounds while sick and still the biggest OT in football!
The boy is a beast. I love seeing him stand next to JE11 or other smaller players.

Curious what others think we could get on a low mileage, only used on Sundays, 87 Tight End for a trade in?

Several teams out there would cough up a 2nd Round pick. Get two real egotistical owners like Jerry Jones and the Redskins owner in a bidding war and the Pats could end up with two #1s and Elliot.

Not a chance of a 2nd. Age + salary + injury history = 5th at best

Age 29 That isn't old even for the NFL
Salary (2019) $9,000,000 <Cap hit is $12,000,000>
Injuries: Back, Knee, Ankle. He's had three spinal fusions on three vertabrae. None were removed just put back in alignment and secured with titanium braces. All healed properly. Knee was repaired and has not been an issue. Ankle was twisted and opposing player fell on it.

You talk like he's a friggin' 70 year old cripple. His injuries get over hyped and get more discussion than Trump's escapades with **** stars.

You also forget that there are owners in the NFL and coaches who do things on a daily basis that make absolutely no sense whatsoever. If the Rams are willing to give up a first for Cooks, and the Bears two for Mack, you know there are teams that would cough up multiple picks for Gronk.

And you call me delusional.

Gronk retires or gets traded!

He's already said he will not play with anybody else throwing the ball.

He's a Patriot or he's retired.

I really think the latter.

Gronk to the HOF with three rings!!!

He's still good but I'm concerned with the back injuries. I endured multiple spinal fractures. I have no spinal fusions. Every fusion makes you that much less flexible. What if he gets another back surgery this off season? It is already getting harder for him to catch the low balls. The smile is gone from his face.....

Feel free to point out where I called you delusional. I forget nothing, I’m just looking realistically at what players historically get traded for. When NFL teams do things that “make no sense,” it’s for perceived upside. Gronk no longer fits in that category. You may think Gronk’s medicals are overblown but I highly doubt many NFL execs would agree with you.

Good debate. Gronk is a tough one to figure out his trade value. Like Yankee Traveler said Gronk said he would only play with TB. But things change all the time.

Let's win another Lombardi and see what happens. If they win it this year I could see he and Brady retire.

Patriots have downgraded starting RG Shaq Mason to out for Sunday’s game. Should be a second straight start for Ted Karras.

Both the Tennessee Titans and New England Patriots are quite banged up and will be without a key starter on the offensive side of the ball.
Following an important win on Monday Night Football against the Dallas Cowboys, the Tennessee Titans will welcome the New England Patriots to Nashville tomorrow. The Two-Tone Blue and the AFC powerhouse run by Bill Belichick and Tom Brady met in the divisional round of last year’s playoffs, with the Titans falling 35-14 after starting the game with a seven-point lead.

The Titans come into this game having lost three of their past four games, but a win coming out of the bye week was hopefully a good omen for the second half of the season. The offense seemed much more in control after the long layoff. The Patriots have won six-consecutive games after losing two of their first three. New England ranks in the top 10 in both yards and points per game on offense.

New England Patriots
TE Rob Gronkowski (ankle/back): Not expected to play
RB Sony Michel (knee): Questionable
LB Dont’a Hightower (knee): Questionable
OT Trent Brown (illness): Questionable
OG Shaq Mason (calf): Questionable
TE Jacob Hollister (hamstring): Questionable

The big news here is that Gronkowski isn’t expected to play tomorrow, despite him getting limited practices in all week. With a bye week coming up after the Titans game, the Patriots will exercise caution with their star tight end, who has struggled with injuries all year. Considering their bye is coming up, one would expect Michel to also be held out, but it seems as if he’s going to give it a go on Sunday. Belichick had been using WR Cordarrelle Patterson as an early-down back in Michel’s absence.

The Patriots are usually very vague when it comes to injuries, so it’s tough to know who will actually play tomorrow. Brown returned to a limited practice on Friday and all of the others were limited participants all week. Hollister has been out since Week 2, and with Gronkowski not playing, the Patriots will likely be down to one tight end again: Dwayne Allen. Hightower’s return would be a huge boon to a linebacking corps that has struggled to make much of an impact in 2018.

Tennessee Titans
OT Jack Conklin (concussion): OUT
DE Derrick Morgan (shoulder): Questionable
WR Taywan Taylor (foot): Questionable
WR Tajae Sharpe (ankle): Questionable
NT Bennie Logan (knee): Questionable
S Dane Cruikshank (knee): Questionable

Just like the Patriots, the Titans will be missing a prominent offensive starter on Sunday, as Conklin is set to lose a game due to a concussion sustained in the Monday night victory. Dennis Kelly filled in for Conklin against the Cowboys and arguably outperformed him. Cruikshank and Taylor didn’t practice all week and are longshots to suit up. Morgan was downgraded to DNP on Friday after limited sessions early in the week. He likely won’t play either.

Sharpe and Logan should be fine for Saturday. This isn’t really a game for Logan to make an impact, with Belichick and Brady likely to come out throwing the ball all afternoon. Sharpe will be needed in what can turn into a shootout; especially with Taylor doubtful to play and the Titans’ other receivers being relatively unproven.

Several things.....

Special team blew the opening kickoff because they didn't stay in their lanes

Chung Cannot play football at the NFL level. Totally screwed the first TD by the Titans because he can't cover. Tyhenhe totally blew a tackle by trying grab the reciever at the numbers inatead of tackling him at the waist or lower. He got tossed like a ragdoll.

Defesejust doesn't appear to be in the game. They look like they're still at the Waffle House haviubg breakfast.

Brady ain't pretty today either. He's looked a bit lost on a few plays. Vrabel knows his weaknesses and strengths and will be going after him.
