Sorry.....you lost me on this one.

What does Odor going backwards, fans dislike, have to do with Lucas/Field being called up? Do either one of these guys project to decent/strong futures in 2016 and beyond?

I'm missing your point. Help me out please.

Field or Lucas aren't part of TEX 2016 but one or the other would allow Odor to be optioned to AAA where he would have a far better place to get his game together so in 2016 Odor isn't a piece of pulp.

As has been detailed here before ... need a 40man roster spot for one or the other of them. TEX blew the most logical opportunity to give Field/Lucas a 40man spot when the moved Rua to the 60day DL ... but instead they gave that roster spot to Kickham ... who SEA waived to make a 40man roster spot for Long Ball Mark Lowe.

Seriously -- know TEX would like to find another LHRP ... but a guy who couldn't hack it with SEA and who was less valuable than Lowe isn't a guy who TEX ought to think much about either. He's been on the RR roster for 3 days yet has not appeared. So what's the deal?

Makes me wonder how serious TEX is about solving Odor's problems when they waste a spot on Kickham (who has yet to appear for RR) that could have been the path to bring up a hot veteran UIF bat and get Odor down to AAA.

i kind of understand your point but i think this is more of a temporary move to give Odor AAA time to get his head straight and not a long time move

Not sure why you quoted my point. I didn't have one. I had a question.

And I'm gonna take issue with you statement of "temporary move to give Odor time at AAA."

It may not be temporary at all. And I don't care. How ever long it takes, it takes, for Odor to get his game/head back, is what it takes.

No rush IMO, and no timetable is what works in this situation.

Well then I am confused. You wondered why I thought TEX ought to find a path to get either Lucas or Field up to sprout Odor. You like many of us think AAA is where Odor needs to be. So -- somebody has to be playing 2b for as you say "however long it takes". That's where Lucas and Field come in. Neither are a part of TEX future, both have MLB experience, both play at least 2b, SS and 3b ... and both are hitting .300 +/- 10.

I certainly appreciate where you're coming from, and I too, think Odor has a decent future ahead of him.

But it's not delicate IMO. He's hurting the team this season pure and simple. And worse yet, he's going backwards in his career too! A classic, double-negative.

Isn't he still the youngest player in the majors? He had no business being in Arlington last season, and it's really showing this year. I hate it. But it's the truth. Banister and company sits him down and have a frank, but big brotherish conversation, and lay out the plan for him and us.

It's certainly not mean to send him down, in fact, I'd argue the opposite.

I think it can be delicate in that they become so afraid to make a mistake they become worthless. I agree with sending him down as I said earlier today he needs to be but we want to make it a positive for him. I think we have messed with some mentally in the past with sending them down and up like a yo yo.

Land of the lost night here. hahaha I seem to wallow in it; even live it at times.

Odor, IMO, can/should go to the minors, regardless of what we do next. But I must admit, I didn't get your move on Lucas/Field to allow for the move. I was totally concentrating on Rosales for tonight/tomorrow night and not thinking longer term on who takes the dreaded "UIF" position which Adam currently resides in.

I'll "attempt" to do better the rest of the evening.

Not sure what TEX is doing with Kickham. Optioned to RR on 5 May but yet to appear. Kickham's roster spot came from Rua moving to the 60dayDL. Rua's spot could have been used to make room for Lucas or Field to take over at 2b allowing TEX to demote Odor.

Having either Lucas or Field on the active roster would also set up potential for TEX to choose who to keep ... Field/Lucas or Rosales once Odor is ready to come back up whenever that is.

But instead ... Odor is going backwards and the fans don't like that.

Really not sure on the Kickham thing myself. Makes no sense.

I really kind of think we're all on the same page here, in that, he needs to be sent down to relax/mature/gain experience, whatever we want to call it.

I heard today about "how good could it be for a kid to know/read (day-n-out), about should we bench him/days off/send him down." Really, that's got to be demoralizing, all by itself.

Need to get to the bullpen. We're not hitting this guy. Glad he's occasionally wild.

A lot of full counts but 9 strike outs? That's not good.

Looks like the offense is going to waste another good pitching performance tonight.

Man-o-man.....what a storm moved across this area. Didn't see the game, lost all total satellite signals.

One hit, one run....1-0 in the 5th.....Guess I'm up to date.
