If you have been in the deep woods the past week ... you'd have hardly thought that TEX had a four game win streak. All started downhill when Elvis couldn't handle Kiermaier's grounder.

Could have pulled it out in the top of the 8th with the top of the lineup ... bases loaded no out ... and get one run. You don't overcome 5 run deficit with walks ... despite how much Jamey loved Blanks getting a walk. Blanks isn't betting 5th to get a walk.

Never mind the bottom of the 8th heroics reprising the 62 Mets.

I knew it wasn't good. But this is worse than I suspected.

In Gallardo’s seven starts, the Rangers have scored nine runs with him in the game. That includes only two runs in his last four starts.

Shortstop Elvis Andrus mishandled a grounder in the sixth inning, opening the way to four runs and a 5-0 Rays lead. The Rangers have made six errors, four by Andrus, behind Gallardo.

“I hate making an error,” Andrus said. “But the way he was pitching, it hurts a little bit more. That was hard to swallow.”

And this on Moreland:

– First baseman Mitch Moreland, recovering from surgery to remove a bone chip from the left elbow, will start his injury-rehab assignment with Round Rock on Saturday. Moreland hopes to play three days, take one day off and return on Wednesday, the first day in which he is eligible.

Sometimes your MOTB has to take a walk. If he'd struck out on pitches out of the zone or rolled over weakly on a junk ball you'd be pissed as well. Fact is, he had a productive AB.

Right. I was always told in baseball that a walk is as good as a hit.
