NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Redskins will release Robert Griffin III this offseason.:suds:

This is not exactly breaking news. Washington was never going to pay Griffin's $16.155 million, fifth-year option, and Griffin was not going to restructure his deal just to spend another season sitting behind Kirk Cousins. It is just a matter of time. The interesting part of the report is Rapoport's assertion that owner Daniel Snyder forced GM Scot McCloughan and coach Jay Gruden to keep Griffin on the roster all season. Even with a great personnel man and a good coach, Snyder cannot stop meddling. Griffin should reemerge in a quarterback battle or as a high-profile backup next season.

Does Dallas has their new QB:suds:

Griffin is an interesting option for a team. I can see a team giving him a pretty big team protected contract.

Eagles, if they hire Coughlin, would probably not go with Griffin. Tom is old school and will want a pure drop-back, pocket passer. Of course, Griffin should really work on those skills if he wants to be an effective QB for the long-term, anyway.

Browns would be interesting, since Griffin is basically a more mature Johnny Manziel

IMO, the Jets would be a pretty good choice for him.

Not a bad option...I have no idea what they are going to do at QB for next season. I would guess Bowles likes Fitzpatrick enough to keep him the starter. He had what amounts to a record-setting season for Jets quarterbacks, which shows just how long this franchise has gone without a franchise QB.

This is a team still finding its offensive identity. Geno will probably be gone when his initial contract expires next summer. 3rd stringer Petty is very similar to Griffin, coming out of Baylor's system. Fitzpatrick is yer classic journeyman.

Not a franchise player in the lot.

Not that RG III is a huge upgrade but could certainly see him improving anyone of these teams. Texans could be a good fit. Puts him back in Texas where he had his most success. That would be good for his fragile mental personality.

Griffin would be a guy that could definitely unseat Fitzpatrick. IMO, Fitzpatrick succeeded because Marshall and Decker were great and their schedule wasn't great. He is not a guy who does well against decent defenses.

If Chip was still on the Eagles he would have gone there but since he's gone (and rightfully so) RGIII is going to Dallas.

Dallas, Houston, Cleveland, Philly, Rams should be making a push for him...

Nope, I think Jerrah brings his long lost son Manziel back to the ranch. Good luck with that:dhd:
