Nail on the head. That's why if we were to land a DE starter in FA, I would take(I know I'm the only one) Elliott from OSU. I think he would be awesome here
it would not be shocking if we draft another romo friendly player . elliot is going to be a monster. a,complete back. I feel that he is one of the very few elite players in this draft.

That's what I think too. I think he would make a wins and losses difference, and help our defense by getting back to 35 minutes per game TOP

ESPN’s Todd Archer reports that the Cowboys have signed Raiders restricted free agent DE Benson Mayowa to an offer sheet.

  • Rand Getlin reports that the Cowboys have signed Mayowa to a three-year offer sheet.
  • According to Getlin, Mayowa will $4 million in 2016, which includes a $3.3 million signing bonus and base salaries of $2.5M (2017) and $2.75M (2018) as part of this agreement.
  • Getlin adds that the 2018 year of his contract is voidable based on achieved sacks and playing time.
This means that the Raiders have until midnight EST on Wednesday to match the offer or he will become a Cowboy.

The bold is good to see I guess, we shall see if the land any of their targets.

Brandon George of the Dallas Morning News reports that Cowboys will host free agent CB Patrick Robinson for a visit next week.

Dallas is also hosting free agent RB Alfred Morris next week, so it looks like they’re getting much more active in the open market now that we’re in the second wave of free agency.

Robinson is one of the best available cornerbacks and could prove to be a value signing for a team in 2016.

A few more details on Alfred Morris

Nick Eatman reports that the Cowboys are expected to host Redskins free agent RB Alfred Morrisfor a visit on Monday.

This is the first reported interest in Morris since the market opened over a week ago. Previous reports have mentioned the Dolphins as a team with interest in Morris, but there hasn’t been much regarding this idea in recent weeks.

Morris, 27, is a former sixth-round pick of the Redskins back in 2012. He played out his four-year, $2,223,100 rookie contract with the Redskins and is testing the open market for the first time as an unrestricted free agent.

In 2015, Morris appeared in all 16 games for the Redskins and ran for 751 yards on 202 carries (3.7 YPC) to go along with 10 receptions for 55 yards receiving and a touchdown. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 52 running back out of 68 qualifying players.

Completely indifferent on Mayowa. Does he make us better? I don't really know enough about him to say. If we resign a couple guys and draft a couple guys does he make the team? What about after Gregory is back? Is he really only 240lbs as Rotoworld lists him? If so how is he a DE?

240, I thought I read somewhere that he was 260, just checked PFR and they list him at 236. Dyslexia is my only excuse. Now I have to rethink about him.

Maybe they are thinking playing him at LB? Like I said I don't know much about him or his skill set. I can only hope if that weight is accurate that he has a quick first step...and I mean lambroghini quick....

That's why a lot of people have us taking Bosa now. While he is a good but not great pass rusher, he is outstanding as a run defender. With Gregory and DLaw being smaller, faster type ends, he would be a good fit

I agree with this 100%, and this is why I won't throw a fit draft day if we take Bosa.
I say this with the thought that Ramsey is off the board....:D:D

Won't happen but what if Ramsey is there at 4, Dallas trades back 3 spots, Ramsey's still there and Dallas takes a quarterback. Will that be the end of PDay. Not just PDay a lot of our hearts couldn't take it.

HaHa, I actually think there is a good chance we trade back to 6 or 7, especially if Chip wants Goff in SF and is willing to give up a 2nd. In that case, I think the Cowboys would take a hard look at Elliott

I'm good with trading back, but will blow a gasket if Dallas passed on a guy twice I'd be happy with at 4.

LOL...Worst thing to do as a fan is to fall in love with a particular guy. For all we know the team doesn't even have "our guy" on their board. Many times I've sat there waiting for a guy to fall, he does and they don't take him...and it drives you crazy...this year with only 3 picks before us there is a darn good chance "our guy" will be there, whomever it is. So if they say a name other than one of the "expected ones" We are likely to get a lot of WTFs...I just hope I don't have to read about it for a year how we could have traded back and still gotten "player A" at 7 or 10 or 12. In my mind This team has earned the right lately to make an early pick without getting criticized

Be very interesting if we cut all the dead wood in the secondary, get a guy like Robinson to compete with Mo for the #3/4 corner spot and also draft a CB in the 1st or 2nd round to see how it all shakes out...

Free agent CB Patrick Robinson will visit the Cowboys next week.

Dallas had interest in Robinson last offseason before he signed with the Chargers. He also visited with the Rams, but left without a contract. Robinson is Rotoworld's No. 1 available corner.

Ever time I see Dallas is interested in Patrick Robinson, I keep hoping the name changes to Patrick Peterson.
