We are going to give up 30+ a few times this season, and probably over 40 one other time.

But we will not have another showing like the ones that got away from us last season. I guarantee it. Even with new blood in on Defense and all........Pelini's focus definitely has shifted back to getting the Defense straightened out.

Bo can officially let go of the Offense and hand it over full-time to Beck. We're rolling on that side of the ball.

Time now for Pelini to step back into his full-time role on the Defensive side and get this fucking ship sailing straight towards the National Championship.

Honeymoon was over after 2011 in Madison for me.

Was over long before that for many.

A lot of older fans I speak to say that the 2011 A&M game was when they were officially no longer a blind supporter of him. Thought he represented us horribly and hurt the team more than he helped in that game.

This type of conversation and the type of stuff that was in the question about Pelini thread (outside of the obvious old senile idiot) is exactly why I didn't want a first time head coach at Nebraska. I will never be ok with what Nebraska has turned into with the inexperience and learn as you go coaching hires. This is mother fucking Nebraska!!!!! We should be and are better than that. We are not located in the south, we can't afford a decade of 1 coach learning as he goes and never figuring it out. We were already slipping off when he got here. Now he is just continuing it.

I know he can't and won't be fired so my thought process is fucked from the jump so ultimately we are just stuck in neutral. I am not asking for him to be fired, just saying that I didn't want a first time head coach at Nebraska and knew we were screwed from the beginning.

Even if we do better this year and win more than the usual 9-10 games, what is it proving? Everyone acknowledges that our schedule is in fact easier. The one thing we have never done (other than Devaney) was to hire an experienced HC from elsewhere. I believe that the time has come to do that again.

Now I don't want to defend the senile old dumb fuck but he said "experienced HC". Not just an experienced coach. Some coaches aren't build to be head coaches. And that is ok. It doesn't make them less of a coach.
