Does Nebraska Still Believe in Bo Pelini?

Expectations are always high at Nebraska as they should be.

Pelini seems to have really grown as a coach since the end of last year. Seems much looser, but also understands that it's time he starts putting a better product on the field

I like it, he seems much more like a head coach who now knows exactly what needs to be done

but he is jumping into the fundamental-teaching pool with both feet.

I sure hope he's right.

Either get top notch athletic talent, or drill fundamentals into the non-athletic ones.

He's got to do one or the other to get Nebraska back to elite.

I think you are right regarding knowing he needs to put a better product on the field. I don't agree with the loose part though. He always seems more relaxed in the off season. We will see how that goes when we get into the meat of the season. With that said I personally hope he doesn't get too relaxed. A controlled fire is good for us.

I do think he brought more intensity, more contact, more scrimmages and hopefully more competition. If he truly is going to open up every position (which has been promised before but appearances seemed different) than it is only a matter of time before the competitors rise to the top and we start to move forward.

I really like the fundamentals comment. He can not assume the recruits we are getting have been trained or will recall the fundamentals. They have to be second nature.

Our recruiting shows promise for the future too. You never know what you will have come signing day but we do seem to be ramping up there.

Bottom line, I do think he knows the changes needed and is implementing ways to get there.

Honeymoon was over after 2011 in Madison for me.

Was over long before that for many.

A lot of older fans I speak to say that the 2011 A&M game was when they were officially no longer a blind supporter of him. Thought he represented us horribly and hurt the team more than he helped in that game.

It's the only way it's gonna happen.

I seriously do not see us giving up 63 and 70 points this season. I'm 100% positive Pelini will have used his time during this off-season to figure out a way to stop that from happening again.
