Nice up and down action going on so far. A few pings for the Pens. Nice play by Tanger at the end there. Great save by Bob on Talbot's SH breakaway, quick pads.

I've watched all pittsburgh sports for a long time, and apart from the revolving door on the steeler o-line, i've never seen a roster get decimated like this before from a star standpoint.

All three top centers have now missed at least 20 games, or more this season. Not to mention the other plethora of injuries.

its bad, no doubt, i'm just saying hte pens have been pretty lucky over the past few years

So well known facts that were proven wrong by the FSN crew tonight:

-Boynton was traded from Anaheim to Philadelphia, not claimed off waivers from Chicago.
-Flyers beat the Sabres in the shootout to make the playoffs in game 82 last year, not the Rangers.
-Claude Giroux was taken 13th overall in 2006, not 22nd overall.

You'll have to forgive them...they ride the shortbus.

The Penguins have all 5 guys out of the defensive zone and joining the offense before the Flyers get any of their forwards out of the zone.

That's fucking sad.

This looks like the Flyers teams from the early and mid 2000s. No one wearing orange has the ability to make pass that doesn't require the recipient to reach for the puck.

the more depressing part is the fact that i'm conditioned to seeing that..

in any case, i've had enough of it. I appreciate and am astounded with how well the team has dealt with the adversity, but i'm ready to see them go more than two or three games without losing another player

And to comment on Steigy/Errey, just know that they're the reason I hate FSN. FSN got rid of Mike Lange...Mike Lange is in the HHoF. Mike Lange is a legend. Mike Lange does his homework before a game to make sure he has the right stats and is making good points during a broadcast. And they moved him to radio.

at least they didnt relapse and go with the 'tank the season for a high pick' method they've excelled at in years past

Chalk it up to upper level management and their shortcomings on fsn. i know fans of the opposition don't like mike lange because of his catch-lines, but the guy is an encyclopedia of hockey.

fsn fired lange for steiggy :confused2:

He's just old school. The guys he was learning from were just known for that. It's like folklore.

it's easy to do when you have no direction as an organization... like they did in both of the instances where you are inferring they tanked.

What truly makes an organization successful are the guys at the top calling the shots. This is pretty evident in how the Pens have done this season. When the leaders of the club know what the hell they're doing, bad situations can be turned into positives.
