NFL is gonna change it one day, because they change things all the dam time... Soon I expect no kickoffs, teams will just start at the 25 yard line...
Then @Fitbud will be asking for starting at the 50!

You get I agree with you as far as what they should do, right? I'm just not emotional about it if they don't make a switch.
Playing both sides eh.while I am not as emotional as most are with their opinions I agree with you. I prefer it like it is.....but would understand if they made a change.
Seeing both sides is called being an adult. Crying if you don't get exactly what you want is...well....not.Playing both sides eh.
Bold move.
Agreeing with two different and opposed key views is called riding the fence. But you do youSeeing both sides is called being an adult. Crying if you don't get exactly what you want is...well....not.

It's a oddity Boogie and said sad sack team will be made quick work of. Still some football to be played, lets not count chicks quiet yet. Lets see how it plays out and lets not have some knee jerk reaction to something that rarely happens. The NFL set up is made for maximum interest for fans, truly it is and it shows in the ratings. I'd be very unhappy if they changed the present system.

Ok, I think we all get that an 8 win team hosting a 12-13 win team looks off and we will never really all agree. But here's just a little food for thought for those wanting tge seeding completely revamped due to a scenario that happens pretty rarely.
Just last season for instance. The 10-6 Seahawks played the WC game at Dallas vs the 10-6 Cowboys. If the system all of the proponents of change was implemented, by NFL rules, tge Seahawks would have hosted that game due to the head to head tie breaker. Meaning the Cowboys winning their division would be meaningless.
Honest question, would you be in favor of that inequity as well? After all, fair is fair. Personally, as a Seahawk fan, I would not want my team benefitting from that for finishing second.
Do you have an issue with awarding a division winner with a lesser record than the WC team an away playoff game as opposed to a home game?IDK @boogiewithstu2007 most of the changes are either for safety/lawsuit protection or for higher ratings and I don't see watering down division showdowns as something that will draw better rating. Actually think it would be a kick to the balls for ratings. It's like the difference to watching someone walking a tight rope six inches off the ground to walking a rope sixty feet off the ground, a whole lot of difference in the drama and interest in watching. Serious consequences make a whole lot of difference. I'm a big fan of the present set up and the success of the NFL supports that it's a win for the league and fans.

I like what is in place at the present. It works well, no need for further tinkering.Do you have an issue with awarding a division winner with a lesser record than the WC team an away playoff game as opposed to a home game?
Because despite what you think, the people in charge who do this for a living think division titles mean more than being a WC. The rules are set out clearly before the season and everyone knows them. Also, the division setup is the best way to make out schedules. It's not 'emotional'...it's using common sense. When somebody brings something logical that validates an 8 win team should host a 12 win team based upon 'success'....well....that's never gonna happen.
But that 10-6 record would get any team into the playoff and they received no special privilege for winning the division....so it was meaningless. The Cowboys in your scenario would still have a playoff game...ergo, winning the division was not meaningless.
Yes. The prize for winning your division is a guaranteed home game. It's a worthy prize. Makes you fight for it that much more. Winning the division matters.Do you have an issue with awarding a division winner with a lesser record than the WC team an away playoff game as opposed to a home game?
