I know. I kept trading down just because there really wasn't anyone that I liked where I was picking, so figured I'd pick up a bunch of 2nd, 3rd and 4th round picks and got lucky at 31 as I had my choice between both Goff and Cook, so I chose Goff.

That's usually why I trade down as well, although I usually aim for at least 1 trade down to pick up an additional pick, since the Rams don't have a full allotment this year.

During those simulators, I always do a tradedown if it makes complete sense since this team has a lot of holes to fill. Unless of course I just do one of those where I do no trades and just deal with what we have.

If we stay put at 15, every mock has us selecting Treadwell.

Certainly makes sense if he's still available. A definite need position, and a valued talent at that position. We'll see as the predraft process continues if he maintains that #1 WR prospect ranking. Free agency could change that too (if for instance the Rams land Jeffery).

I think the Rams would be stupid not to select Treadwell but we have witnessed that stupidity MANY times before.

Most mocks have Treadwell going before the Rams selection.

I doubt he is there for them to take, and I think 15 is too early for any of the other WR's.

15 is actually a crappy spot this year considering the lack of quality depth at the Rams "need" positions.

Treadwell is sound like a Green/Jones/blahblah. the reciever that gets drafted in the top 5 so unless you give up a kings randsom there is no way you will get Treadwell

He's not quite in that class IMO. He doesn't have that separation speed. It all depends on who in the top 15 needs what really, but it's hard to see the Chargers passing on him.

Needs per NFL.com, projected picks based on CBS rankings:

1. Titans (top need: OT; other needs: RB, FS, ILB) PICK: Laremy Tunsil, OT, Ole Miss

2. Browns (top need: QB; other needs: WR, DE, ILB) PICK: Joey Bosa, DE, Ohio State

3. Chargers (top need: WR; other needs: ILB, QB, C) PICK: Laquon Treadwell, WR, Ole Miss

4. Cowboys (top need: QB; other needs: RB, DT, LB) PICK: Jared Goff, QB, Cal

5. Jaguars (top need: CB; other needs: FS, C, DT) PICK: Jalen Ramsey, CB, Florida

6. Ravens (top need: FS; other needs: EDGE, WR) PICK: Vernon Hargreaves III, CB, Florida

7. Niners (top need: QB; other needs: RT, WR, DE) PICK: DeForest Buckner, DE, Oregon

8. Dolphins (top need: CB; other needs: OG, OT, ILB) PICK: Mackensie Alexander, CB, Clemson

9. Bucs (top need: CB; other needs: DE, OT, OG) PICK: Ronnie Stanley, OT, Notre Dame

10. Giants (top need: DE; other needs: RB, FS, OT) PICK: Shaq Lawson, DE, Clemson

11. Bears (top need: pass rusher; other needs: QB, CB, LT, WR) PICK: Emmanuel Ogbah, DE, Oklahoma St.

12. Saints (top need: WOLB; other needs: OG, QB, CB) PICK: Myles Jack, OLB, UCLA

13. Eagles (top need: QB; other needs: OT, EDGE, OG) PICK: Paxton Lynch, QB, Memphis

14. Raiders (top need: CB; other needs: OT, OG, FS) PICK: Taylor Decker, OT, Ohio State

15. Rams

This scenario has the top 3 OT, top 3 CB, top 2 QB, and the top WR off the board. Rams could go OT (Conklin), WR (Coleman, Thomas, Doctson), LB (Ragland, Jaylon Smith), or trade down?

Trade down and obtain some more picks. Because I'm sure that Cook and/or Lynch could be had slightly further down if they're thinking QB with their first pick.

I don't know if the Eagles will pass on Lynch.

We'd better pick-up Havenstein's teammate Voltz at some point. He is too good to let him get away.

Latest try - nice to see the team listed as the Los Angeles Rams! Traded down twice in the first (picking up a 2nd each time) until I felt the Wentz pick was better value.

Round 1 Pick 23 (MINN): Carson Wentz, QB, North Dakota State (B)
Round 2 Pick 12:
Desmond King, CB, Iowa (A-)

Round 2 Pick 17 (IND):
Josh Doctson, WR, TCU (A)
Round 2 Pick 23 (MINN):

Yep Shopson, WalterFootball has us picking Carson Wentz if we stay at 15 in the first. Some liken him to a lighter version of Mannion. Like the selection though. Either him or Paxton Lynch out of Memphis if he falls to us. I have two LBs who may make Laurinaitus expendable. Kendall Beckwith out of LSU and Blake Martinez out of Standford. Both studs. We had better snatch-up Voltz. He is too good to pass over which means the Rams will do everything to select some project and pass him up as they done many times before.

Well, for the Los Angeles Rams with the 15th pick, they go QB. Could be Wentz, or Lynch but I would bet they want a franchise QB in place for the opening in 2019. There is no other way to get a starting QB but through the draft at this point. :noidea: Both those QBs could watch a combination of either of the QBs we have now to start next season. We have to draft the best QB available with the 15th pick. How can we look at another year of wondering who guides the Rams in the future. :L I also agree, whatever it take to get Voltz will help the line a bunch. Will start day one.:thumb:

Rumor is Osweiler will be looking for something around 3/36M and the Broncos may not be willing to go that high. Is he worth that for the Rams in anyone's eyes? He looks like Foles on a better team to me.

I think we will be going after Lynch or Wentz myself. I think after Foles and Keenum, Snisher might have finally learned their lesson of chasing bad QBs and hoping they will become franchise QBs.

My view of the early round draft QBs is skewed, as I only saw their bowl games for the most part. Lynch played poorly in his, Wentz was OK but surprised me with his running ability. Goff looked really good, but looked like as system QB.

I'll take Wentz before Lynch as Goff will be gone before we pick barring any stupid trade-ups that we might pull.

Here is my 1st attempt at the Rams 2016 draft. Have the right to change my mind of course depending on combine results:

1-15 Paxton Lynch QB
2-47 Josh Doctson WR
2-52 Ryan Kelly C
3-79 Spencer Drango OG
3-84 Jalen Mills FS
5-148 Cyrus Jones CB
5-154 Jared Norris ILB
6-207 Tyler Johnstone OT
7-244 Chris Swain FB

Never traded down at all, QB for the future is a need for the Rams moving into the new venue.
