Pacheco in KC, getting all the press and seemingly in line to bump McKinnon and RoJo from the roster, if not straight up send CEH to the bench.

I remember the Darwin Thompson camp hype too, he was also the 'fastest RB on the team' that preseason

Sush it, and come trade for Pacheco in Bandits! Buy the hype!

Bienemy has had nothing bad to say about Pacheco or Rojo the last couple weeks, CEH is on notice, imo

more fuel to the fire:suds:

Broncos OC Justin Outten said Javonte Williams and Melvin Gordon will be on a "pitch count" throughout the season.

It's another dagger to those drafting Williams as a surefire RB1 at the top of fantasy drafts. Signs continue to point to the Broncos wanting to split duties between the sophomore and veteran Gordon, who was re-signed to a one-year deal deep into free agency. Williams can still get to top-12 status among fantasy backs, but he's going to have to do it with big plays and touchdowns, something he's capable of, though Gordon will be in the way. Outten and new coach Nathaniel Hackett came from a Green Bay offense where Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon pretty much split work right down the middle in an effort to keep both fresh.

Except that Gordon is a aging vet on his third contract who signed a one year contract for peanuts. He's got a lot of mileage on him. Dillon is young and still on a rookie contract and very little mileage on him. Guess we'll have to see how this plays out.

Gordon will get usage, there's zero doubt. But Hacket and Wilson will quickly tire of sub 4ypc and more fumbles than one should have when they know they have a superior option around.
He might keep Williams from being a bona-fide RB1, but Williams is still gonna be a weekly "set and forget" in your lineup. And once you get to that point, does it really matter if he's the RB1 or the RB2??

for a skill position class that "lacked studs" and was widely considered to have OK depth at WR and lacking overall talent at RB, feel like the rookie fever has been amplified leading up to these preseason games, and is only going to get worse when these rooks take snaps against a bunch of future insurance salesmen/car wash attendants playing defense the next 3 weekends

Wouldn't it be great if all these day 3 supposed to be wunderkids fell on their faces against said car washers and insurance salesmen, and then we wouldn't have to worry about it?

Of course one will shine, and I'm sure it'll be one I railed against

I rail against all of them!
I'll take the historical ~90-95% accuracy when it comes to them never having a top 24 RB season in their career vs trying to be the smartest man in the room and nail the one that lands in that 5% hit rate

Insurance salesman >>>> car wash attendant, but let's be real, not all of the guys that will be cut later this month have the looks and personality needed to excel in the insurance industry

FWIW, I actually thought the WR depth in last year's draft was good. The issue, imo, is that teams drafted WRs about 5-20 spots before they should've gone almost across the board so the expectation curve is all screwed up.

Not a good start for a Zach Wilson improvement this year.

Y'all just wait until Kansas City trades CEH to the Jets. Then I am going to own both D1 and D2.

I want to say there was an announcer who would say that during preseason games back in the day. Would probably be someone on the Redskins broadcasts, since there was little TV coverage back then during the preseason. But downplaying some 2nd half preseason "stud" because he is playing against "guys who are bagging groceries next week" has been my go to for years and I am pretty sure that's where I picked it up from.

Lou Brown said it in Major League during their spring training montage
