"Well, every year we make a goalie feel unbelievable. We played against Philly and (Martin) Biron was good. (Henrik) Lundqvist was good last year and this year we just make Halak feel good. It's always about this team and we'll find a way to break it and win it. So, no panic, nothing."- Alexander the Great

Add in one more hurdle:

From Tarik at WAPO

Defenseman Tom Poti will miss Game 7 against Montreal tomorrow night after getting hit in the eye in last night's 4-1 loss at Bell Centre.

Poti flew back with the team last night and was scheduled to have surgery today. Coach Bruce Boudreau estimated Poti would miss two to three weeks, meaning if the Capitals win tomorrow, they would be without him at least until the conference finals.

"You never see anybody get hit in the face, especially the eye," Mike Green said. "He has to go in for surgery today, and we all wish him the best. It's unfortunate that that happened."

Green said he did not speak with Poti on the flight but that a doctor was with him.

Poti's absence from the lineup probably means either John Erskine or Tyler Sloan, both of whom were at today's optional practice, will be inserted, although Boudreau declined to be specific.

"Tom Poti's been great," Boudreau said. "You lose one of your most experienced players, it's a tough thing, but it's the playoffs. You lose players. People come in. It's a chance to be heroes. It's what hockey's all about. It's a battle of attrition after awhile when you play a team seven times in 10 days."

I like this AO quote better:

"I watched the replay when Fehr scored the goal and his arm was shaking when he drank water," Ovechkin said of Halak after he allowed Eric Fehr to score on a breakaway in the first period of Game 2. "So, he's nervous. He knows all the pressure is on him and that's a good sign for us."

If you watched the actual game, his hand was shaking. I spotted it before I even heard anything from OV in the post-game.

Um...no need to go defensive. It was a joke based on the irony that OV would feel the need to point that out and then Halak would turn out to be one cool customer, regardless of what happens in game seven.

Do you really like that quote better or do you really just find it kind of funny and ironic that those words may come back to bite OV in the ass?

That was my point... you're just rubbing it in. Too many fucking Pens' fans on here.

I dont think Ovechkin meant anything by it, but no way do I think Halak was intimidated or nervous at all.

Uh...I was joking. Lighten the fuck up. Christ, I made Sharks choking jokes all the time on the other board and somehow Sharks fans were able to laugh. Maybe the sand will be out of your vagina once the Caps end this tomorrow.

It really didn't add any humor. If things are funny at my team, I have no problem laughing. But this was just a jab for no good reason with no humor value at all.

See, i wouldn't make Sharks choking jokes. Their fans have it bad enough. But you spoiled Pens' fans don't get that.

And with comments like that you can fuck right the hell off.

It stays firmly put, I'm assuming.

You would love to play Montreal...we know....root hard for the Habs....it will be the best thing for you guys.

God help the rest of the league if the Caps figure things out and get rolling....just saying.....adversity CAN motivate....

Hahahaha. It's sports! I'm not making 9/11 jokes here. Senses of humor vary. I happen to appreciate irony.

But I don't want you to feel left out. I'll show you my Crosby joke I authored last year:

Why did Cindy Crysby cross the road?

Because that's where the referee was!

I completely agree. And a win tomorrow resets the clock. It's not like it matters how many games it takes you to get there, just as long as you win it.
