Eh.

I'm fine with moving on from Eli... it's past time on that front.

What I worry about is that the Giants are currently so bad at WR that it represents a situation in which it would be very, very, very hard for any young QB to succeed.

Hopefully Sterling Shepard can come back healthy and after a couple more games, Golden Tate will be back... so at least there is some hope in the near future.

Gonna be hard if either or both of those are out of the line-up, though.
I'd still say get him the reps.

I've never believed the "ruin QB" idea by some. If a guy cannot handle poor performances/struggles he wasn't going to be very good in the first place.

Injury is a different story...like Carr and Couch

nobody knows what it takes... it is easy to say whatever after the fact... But one thing is for sure, qb is a confidence position... don't play with a young mans confidence...

He was either good enough to start the season or he is not, starting him week 3 is just confusing everyone...

Especially when Eli didn't do enough THIS SEASON to lose his job... Not even the fans, who are all wanting to see the future, were calling for Eli's head YET...

it seems like an overreaction towards a loss to buffalo... Who actually has a very good defense....

Yeah, but can Daniel Jones squint his eyes and chuck it a country mile?

Or it's a "we know Eli is not the future so let's see what this kid can do in a lost season" reaction.

that's what is missing... you don't consider week 3 a lost season YET... so you are switching to jones in hope of a winning season... But now whose to blame if it is not a winning season?? Let Eli shoulder all the blame... Now if they don't make the playoffs, it is on Daniel Jones...

Sigh. How bad are things when the best thing we can hope for is Golden freaking Tate coming back.

I hear ya... that being said: he's Jerry Rice compared to Latimer and Fowler.

Drew's a great Patriot, but this.

I remember the Dr's saying that hit was akin to bledsoe hitting a brick wall at 30 mph with no seatbelt.

Jets need a QB. Would love to have Eli right now.

Can the New York teams just make football season last past September?

By whom?

Recently, he has been a league-wide joke... and regarded as such by anyone who isn't a Giants homer.

You said he's been a joke lately, that's extremely overrating him.

I don't have too high or too low of an opinion of Eli's abilities. I do judge him harshly for how he conducted himself prior to the draft, I thought his behavior was spoiled/entitled. And he got what he wanted in the end.

But over his career in NY, he has behaved himself and seems like a genuinely nice guy, if not a little dull and un-inspiring. It sucks that this is the way any veteran QB has to go out, but he's not the first nor the last. Be grateful that you played more than a decade in a league where the average career is 3 years

I didn't say anything about him not being a nice guy. I was strictly talking about his EPIC MEDIOCRITY at QB.

Funny how things work sometimes. A young snot-nosed rookie (Eli) took a S.B. MVP's job from him (Warner). Now the same thing has happened to him.

If Mo did that hit in 2019, he's probably suspended for the rest of the year.
Oh yeah, I remember quite a few like that. Roy Williams31 hit on Amani Toomer.

lights. out.

I remember Darren Woodson hit on the seattle WR. Which was (back then) a legal hit but he got flagged anyways because the guy went into convulsions.

oh, I agree... But once you don't... you cant give up on eli after week 2... Just horrible and continues the embarrassment that the Giants have been for the past 3 season... Being a bad team is one thing, but they have embarrassed themselves...
