Eagles sign RB Boston Scott

Signed off the Saints practice squad. This imo is a great under the radar signing. Very similar to a young Darren Sproles ... kid looked good in the preseason for them.

Yeah......this team is doomed because of injuries.

My guess is a on special teams if he even dresses at all. Way too late in the season to get him up to speed on the playbook.

Clement will likely be shelved. This kid has potential in that 3rd down role / return guy for next year.

Likely a move made for the future more than anything else, another body in camp next year to compete with whomever will be there. A lot of new faces coming after this season...

Totally a move that doesn't have expectation for this year. Yeah...they will have to activate him, but I think Clement is done for year. So there is his spot. As mentioned.....special teams this year. Give him an offseason with the playbook and see what happens.

Apparently I read that he will compete for the "Sproles" spot with Pumphrey in training camp. Yep....Pumphrey is still around......

I like this signing for the future.

Scott looked much better than Pumphrey ever did during preseason. Scott has power and tackle breaking ability on top of good burst; Pumphrey is too slight to run between tackles.

Shame Clement got hurt, he was running with a lot more burst the past couple of weeks, breaking tackles like he did last year. Pretty sure he was playing most of this year hurt to begin with, then the knee injury... it's been that kind of season.

We can hope otherwise. But, yeah....I really was waiting for the retirement conference followed by the announcement he would join the coaching staff.

Only concern is minor....he takes reps from a fourth RB like Scott and stifles any development there.

Still, he is another year removed from ACL and you know issues like the hammy issues he had last year can happen when still so close to ACL recovery.

Probably ends just how we expect it. But also probably a few flashes left, like in the Texans game late last year.

Sanders isn't gonna get any 4th qtr work this year.

Sproles is the man and a great piece for Doug. He chose to play for the eventual champs. Could have gone elsewhere.
