It says that his agent is driving the price up for his other defensive clients. He is setting up a market for a steep price for a quality player. It's not Fletcher as much as it's his agent. Just doing his job. Very much Scott Boras type agent like MLB owners have to deal with.
yeah i read that article as well.....Defensive tackles are not work 115 million dollars. They get paid, they get fat and lazy, never the same player...Albert Haynesworth, Ndamakong Suh and Marcell Dareus all say hello!

So Howard Eskins' word is gold now? ....that's how we're gonna roll this season?

even if it was the case ...the agent is doing his job.

He can ask for 100m guaranteed. that doesn't mean he will get it from anyone.

We can pay Fletcher 8 million this year, 14 million next year and 17 million the year after that. Have him for 3 years with none of it guaranteed. The money is no problem. Fletcher should sign a deal, get that money now and do his thing.

Cox has turned down $60M in guaranteed money.........what's that say?
That his trade value has gone down even further. Any team willing to accept him in a trade would want to have the control of him for several years. Right now he's a one year player for any team he gets traded to. Not much value in that unless you think you have a great chance of going to the bowl.

I think this is interesting. It is possible that the Boys may move up. Wondering if the Eagles and the Cowboys are targeting the same guy? Now, the Cowboy coaching staff has a better rapport on Wentz than any other team as they were coaching the senior bowl. My guess they want Ramsey?

Sal Pal said today that several Eagle big wigs want Zeke real bad and they may be trying to trade up for him.

They won't have to trade up.

Sal Pal is a total jackass. I'd be absolutely shocked if we traded up for Zeke. Take him at #8 if he's there and BPA with no trade down options, but don't give up more assets to move up for a devalued position.

All this trade talk is just posturing. They're not taking Lynch at 8, that's just to get someone to trade up if they decide to drop down. The trade up for Wentz is to bait Chip into blowing some picks to move up. We'll probably stay at 8.

They may be worried Chip takes Zeke and then moves back into the first to grab Lynch.

When you look at the current roster one of the biggest holes is rb. Right now we only have the injury prone Matthews. That's not a recipe for success. And i've seen no mock that has us taking a running back. Unless they truly are going for a qb elliot makes the most sense.

I agree with this - if Mathews goes down (history indicates that he will get injured and miss games again at some point) who do we have running the ball? Elliot makes a ton of sense if we stay at 8, I will take that all day long with no regrets.

I know we can get one later, better value in the later rounds, blah blah... there is no one better at RB in this draft than Elliot, and he would be someone opposing defenses have to account for. We don't have anyone on Offense right now (outside of maybe Ertz) who we can say that about.

I agree. He's just not a RB.... he excels in pass blocking where most rookies struggle big time. If you can't pass block you won't see the field. And then there's his Receiving ablity. Another weapon indeed.

I think we stay at 8 and take Zeke. Anything else is just BS.

So all the QB talk is an elaborate smoke screen to get Zeke to fall to 8?

Possible, but I doubt it.

But Jason Lacanfora, another jackass, also wrote that he hears the Eagles are "in love" with Zeke. I can practically hear Duce yelling we need to take him for our latest version of the WCO.

If you believe Jason LaCanfora ... and he sounds pretty convinced ... that if both Goff and Wentz are off the board the Eagles are taking Zeke. That's pretty much how I see it as well if they stay at 8. While it's true that you can get RB's later, Zeke steps in as your horse and centerpiece from Day 1. Mathews is good but way too injury prone and Sproles while good in his role can't carry full time mail at his age.

I actually believe that they would love either Wentz or Goff, but the price to trade up may be too high and without a 2nd round pick we don't have as much ammo as someone else may. You can do a whole lot worse than Zeke Elliot at 8.
