And still would not be in the playoff.
with a healthy finger and a probable wins over MSU and WSU which they both barely lost without him. 1 loss to Utah early in the season Oregonwould have been a 1 loss Pac 12 Champ and would have likely been in over MSU.

They wouldn't have beaten MSU. There were no excuses. Ya'll lost. Besides, why would you want to go through the embarrassment you went through last year?

a wobbly over throw to a wide open WR in the end zone with a bad finger that would have won the game. a good finger thats a TD. watch any other game with him healthy he makes that throw.

Highly unlikely. It was overthrown, bro. Wobbly had nothing to do with it.

Break your index finger and see how differnt your accuracy is when you throw a ball. not even just that one. there were other plays that it effected.

Here's a novel idea -- how about you just recruit some QBs in your own recruiting class? It's not good that Oregon must keep looking outside the program for successful QBs.

um.....Oregon could go 10-3 this year...

They played in the NCG last year and were one game away from playing in the CCG this year....

a healthy Adams all year and undeniably the Ducks have no worse than a 10-2 record right now.

Oregon currently has the #115 total defense and #113 scoring defense in the country. Oregon is still a 3 loss team right now with a healthy Adams all season due to having one of the worst defenses in the country. TCU might drop 60+ on your defense.

I wish Oregon had won the PAC and beaten Sparty; would be fun to watch them give up 60+ points to either OU or Clemson. Close second would be watching Henry carry the entire defense 50 yards for a TD :dhd:

Looky here. I'm telling you Oregon is 'trending down'.

In 2012 (Kelly's last season) Oregon's defense gave up 34 pts, and 51 pts to go (12-1). Just Two games of 30 pts or more.

In 2013 Oregon's defense gave up 38 pts, 45 pts, and 35 pts. to go (11-2). Three games of 30 pts or more.
In 2014 Oregon's defense gave up 31 pts, 31 pts, 30 pts, 41 pts, and 42 pts to go (13-2). Five games of 30 pts or more.

In 2015 Oregon's defense has given up 42 pts, 62 pts, 45 pts, 55 pts, and 42 points. (9-3). Five games of 40 pts or more.

That is trending down.

The gifts that were handed to Helfrich are gone. Kelly's recruiting is gone. Kelly's player development is gone, Kelly's attention to detail is gone. The upper echelons of the coaching staff have turned over. They are gone.

In Scenario Village, this is the equivalent of a Tom Osborne to Frank Solich handover. The only difference is Kelly never won a Natty.
The successor, who inherits a well put together program, runs the same system, looks good for a couple years, but you can see the bleed in fundamentals and discipline.

This is nothing new. I warned about what appeared to be a down trend last summer. I was SPOT ON.
Oregon vs Nebraska 2016 and 2017 | Page 18 | SportsHoopla Sports Forums

Now that another major piece of the Kelly equation (Scott Frost) has moved on from the offensive side of the ball, I can see the down trend continuing. We shall see if I am right again.

.
the difference between your comparison of Osborne to Solich and Kelly to Helfrich.

Helfrich has continued to recruit very well, in fact Oregon could land a top 15 class this year. Helfrich is on par and sometimes does better in his recruiting classes than Kelly did.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I can't imagine Nebraska had the recruiting classes in the early 00's like Oregon is getting now.

Why cant oregon seem to develop a qb or recruit one?
oh they can.

Not our fault the top QBs at other levels want to come to Oregon.

It's called competition, which is played out during Spring practices and fall camp. May the best player win.

PAC south champions the last year is all that matters in gauging success. Its the duck rule
UCLA had won the majority of PAC South Championships with overall records like 7-5 and even a 5-7 team once....UCLA hasn't done squat with winning the South.

Solich recruited fine.

Not really the point though. It's about being able to put all of the pieces together and having players execute what you want them to do.

I can give you a large list of big time programs that had great talent, but couldn't put together championship teams.

It's not all about talent level.

Oregon has trended down. I don't expect you'll ever see elite level under Helfrich.

Recruiting is a huge part of the point. You continually bring in top level talent and you will continually win many games.

Look at Butch Davis and Miami...He recruited the talent, and Larry Coker was winning with that talent. Talen goes a long way.

Because USC has no room for them. It called 4 and 5 star recruiting. We have so many top qbs some transfer just to play
