Am I forgetting the 3rd one? Fleury and Crosby, who else?
They only had 2, Malkin went #2 in 2004.

There are a lot of upset NHL executives tonight after seeing the #oilers get another No. 1 pick. Wonder if the system is examined again.
I havent read the thread ... Whos the trade bait for d help now ? Eberle?
"foot in the crease" Cup doesn't help either.Couldn't have said it better myself, but prior to the Roussel and Garbage they had Ott and rat boy as well.
Meh. I've always been thankful for that goal since the rule was dumb to begin with and it led to it being scrapped. Also, Buffalo were not a very good team and I would like to shoot Hasek someday."foot in the crease" Cup doesn't help either.
Trading Hall would be beyond stupid, signing Niemi would be crazy, and I don't think you could pay Babcock enough for him to work under the morons running things in Edmonton.Maybe things won't end up being too bad up there. Maybe now Mike Babcock will take the Edmonton job (replaced by Todd McClellan in Detroit) and add some real structure there. They can trade Hall and Yakapov for some defensive help and 3rd/4th line depth, sign Niemi for cheap in goal or pry Bishop out of Tampa, and maybe things won't be too bad next year going forward. Who knows.

Same with Crosby and RyanTrue. But an argument could be made that Ovechkin and Malkin could be considered 1A and 1B.

Disagree. Taylor Hall = coach killer. He has been the captain of that rudderless ship. Edmonton needs blue line help. Time for a new scenery for him. He has been rumored to be on the trading block already this year. They could land a pretty could haul for that. We'll see. Coaching the likes of a McDavid could change a coaches opinion of working there. So where would Babcock go? Toronto - lol?

Yep, smart move here is to trade one of the best young offensive wingers in the league just as you draft a guy who could be the best centre in the league. That's the ticket to success!Edmonton needs blue line help. Time for a new scenery for him. He has been rumored to be on the trading block already this year.
I've never understood this idea that a coach like Babcock would be lured to Edmonton of all places, home of what currently constitutes the most inept management team in North American professional sports, a roster with more holes than a ten square foot sieve, and the worst winter climate in the league, simply to coach McDavid. The idea that he'd jump at the chance also doesn't hold any precedent- when the Pens drafted Crosby they had Eddie Olczyk at the helm and replaced him with Michel Therrien. Star coach if I've ever seen one! Caps pulled Boudreau out of the A to coach Ovie, Lightning gave Stamkos Rick Tocchet and Trapstar Boucher, and the Isles attracted Scott Gordon to coach Tavares. Those are all guys that were pulled out of the AHL, CHL or were assistants. And that all goes without acknowledging that Todd Nelson didn't do a half-bad job on the interim.Coaching the likes of a McDavid could change a coaches opinion of working there. While all true, the fact remains that it was the rule at the time. I'm glad they scrapped the rule too, but do it in the offseason, not following the SC winning goal.Meh. Neither do the two Super Bowl losses."foot in the crease" Cup doesn't help either.
