I'll be pleasantly surprised if we don't go iron man with 11 players. Andy Dalton could play safety if only he knew how to tackle someone without breaking his thumb.
S, DT, LB. Draft those before any offensive players. Sanu and Jones shouldn't leave unless they're both dumb enough to think they're #1s somewhere. They're pretty much co #2s here, in a good offense
Very true...I thought Sanu might take it to another level and become a #1, but he was never consistent enough.
On the flip will they pay both like #2s? If so, I can see both staying.
Then again, early reports out of the Senior Bowl were that there isn't another WR like him in the draft with size, speed, and agility...the kid could be a serious player at WR.
You really believe anyone we take in the first is going to contribute day 1? Not happening.Would rather take someone who contributes Day 1. I would agree Brax has serious upside and is a very intriguing case, but with last years draft being guys who haven't seen the field yet, I'd prefer not to take a project in Round 1
I don't disagree to an extent. If Jones is going to get near #1 money, then no...you don't try and sign him for that. However, if it's relatively comparable to sign Jones or Sanu, I'm going for Jones. While it's nice to watch Sanu on some trick player and such, he can stretch the field opposite of AJ. That can leave a lot of room for Eifert in the middle and a speedy slot guy.I'll keep Sanu, he's cheaper, and can line up in more places and do more things, assuming the offense stays relatively the same.
Jones will get overpaid, probably by Hue, but he is replaceable. There are a million wide receivers out there, and whether its Jones, or a replacement, he's at best the #3 option on this offense. I'm not for spending a lot of money on receivers.
Hopefully, they saw this year what the offense means to Dalton when you can have multiple options.I'm okay with either.... I'm not happy with AJ, James Wright, Alford, Tate and a third round pick.
I don't care to read an entire offseason worth of Hobs talking up Rex Burkhead's versatility, Zamp's plan to run everything with 2 tight ends, or the amazing potential of James Wright.

Again, lots to play out still.

AJ, Eifert, and you need a reliable outside WR opposite AJ. Not only does it keep the defense honest, but it helps to open the middle up for Eifert.
Hopefully, Jones remembers what happens to most guys who think they are #1's or need more money and leave and end up looking like crap and regret it.
If he's worth it (and I don't know if he is) isn't there the transition tag they could apply? Though, honestly, I'd use that on Iloka, personally.
Don't disagree with that at all.Either Tag on Iloka wouldn't be bad. Unless the franchise combines safeties and corners into one number.
A Jones would alsobe a good candidate for the transition, if they want to keep him and not overpay
