With a possibility of QB's going early and often. There is a chance many of these positions BPA will be available. Which do you want? and Why?

I see a chance of Sammy Watkins being there and all S and CB on the board. Even Mack maybe?? Sure will be huge discussions and debating going on in March and April. I would still want WR, just on premise of how bad offense was without CJ. Sure I will change come spring and want defense as usual.

Can we get 5 first rounders this year?

I hate to say it but WR and CB/DB are still our glaring needs and have been for years......You would think we would/could solve this problem......Same Ole Lions.

Can we get 5 first rounders this year?

Here goes...
Trade Stafford to Cleveland get 2 1st rd picks
Trade SUh to Rams get 2 more
Trade CJ to said team and get 1st and 2nd this year and 1st next year.

SO yes we can get 5 first round picks this year. Just not sure it would work out in future???

Trade Akers to Dallas......Those guys are good for a few 1st rounders.....Then Sell Roary to the Raiders for future 1st rounders....Detroit isn't the only inept team in the league, but boy do I hate trying to beat out the Likes of Cleveland, Dallas and Oakland to become the laughing stock of the NFL.

It shouldn't take much to get a little respect in the league....Hire competent people and maybe just maybe we can right this ship.

I've been looking at a lot of Mock Drafts and the consensus so far is WR, with CB and OLB coming in a close 2nd.

The players I have saw picked in the Mocks:

Sammy Watkins is the most prevalent at WR, though some have him going as high as 4 (Mike Evans and Marquise Lee were other WRs they had Detroit picking)

Justin Gilbert from Oklahoma State was the CB they listed the most, with Darqueze Dennard running a close 2nd.

OLB had Khalil Mack on a few, but his name has been rising and he has been off the board before the Lions pick in quite a few.

I'm not sure what I would like the Lions to do. Any of these players would help out immensely. I'd love to see the Lions go with defense with the first pick and come back with a WR, but they haven't had much luck in the 2nd round with WRs.

If there is anything positive about the end of the season -- At least they lost the last game and have a top 10 pick and should get a player who will step in and make the team better next year and should get another one in the 2nd round.

Lions still have enough needs that they can at least come close to taking BPA. I'd rather have Mack who is currently wowing scouts than a CB who is a reach at 10. The OL could still use another tackle if Matthews fell. Either of the top WRs (Watkins or Evans) would be OK value.

The best player available who fills a position of need. Right now WR and CB are the most glaring but if we do plan on moving to a 3-4 then a LB would make sense too. Other than those spots I feel pretty confident in our team as far as starters. We can use depth everywhere but first 2 picks I dont think will be for depth.

The 3-4 is a gay ass defense. I'd rather run the wide 9.

OLB Khalil Mack best player available, not sure he drops to Lions.

They should have a really good shot to land one of the top two WR's though, Watkins or Lee from USC. At 10, I'd imagine it will be one of those 3 kids. Just look at what Wisenhunt did with Keenan Allen. Rookie of the year. Be nice to see that here.

I'd rather wait and try and hit on Brandin Cooks from Oregon State. Kid can flat out play and he will likely be in the 2nd-3rd range.

WR and LB are the biggest need IMO. Whichever one has the best player left is fine with me. I would say after those 2 then CB or OL depending on what happens with Ravioli. Safety is last as there will be some good in FA this year I believe.

Personally I think we can get the BPA though because the rookie pay scale is so much more controlled that you don't have to worry about being able to afford your draft pick like we did with Stafford and Suh.

Just watching some highlight videos of Khalil Mack and he seems like he is a better fit as a 3-4 defense, as he lines up with his hand down many times for Buffalo.

It is pretty crazy how he dominated in the OSU game. I'm sure the Lions could put him pretty much anywhere and it'd be an upgrade. He looks like a stud.

Who do you guys think is going to play S for this team? Unless you think Carey is starter material or that Delmas will agree to a big pay cut we have a gaping hole at a critical spot. I think our need there is greater than it is at CB. Clinton-Dix is the only guy I see worthy of a first rd pick.

This is where we get into the endless debate of perceived greatest need aligning with draft pick position. We all said the same thing about Maluaga and Laurantis the year they waited until round 3 to grab Levy. If CD is BPA at 10, awesome. But there are several of guys worthy of our 1st round pick who'd help the Lions out ASAP.

We're still the opening of free agency away from knowing what holes to fill. The team probably isn't going to look like it does today when the draft comes our way.

4m Texans owner Bob McNair said Houston is willing to trade No. 1 overall pick so it can land another QB and a defensive player as well

I say trade up to 1 and take Clowney. This team will not be complete until all 4 defensive lineman are former 1st round picks.

If Clowney didn't have all the issues I could get on board but he is reminding me of a DE version of Pac Man.

Khalid Mack if he is their or Dennard if he isn't.

I like Johnny Manzel but would be pissed with a QB.

I can't help but think of Bartles & James wine coolers when Bortles is mentioned.
