They just had all three Subbans on NHL. PK is a hoot. I'd hate to play against him, but I like him.

Very complimentary of Jordan.
love it
P.K. Subban says Jordan is the best Subban. Says he's smarter. Put it this way: There are seven people in our family, and if there are six slices of pizza on the table, Jordan's getting one

also love that he got 51 points (in 68 games) as a 17 year old in the OHL last year.

I think I would have picked Shinkaruk Dash but Poirier should be a good player down the road for the Flames. His speed is world-class.

I think they did very well in this first round.

I just think it would have been pretty cool for the hometown kid to have been picked by the Flames, but his stock certainly dropped today (only thing I can think is it must be size related). Oh well, reading some good things about this Emile kid, and I do like the Monahan and Klimchuk picks.

PK is an engaging character.

It'll be interesting to see how Jordan does. I haven't watched him play but as a 5'9 D-man he better be a damn good skater.

51 points from the blueline in his draft year is hard to overlook though. If I was a Nucks fan I'd love this pick. Huge potential reward for a 3rd rounder.

(looks around) To be fair.... (looks around again)

they did play on the 2nd/3rd lines much of the season, no?

Frolik subbed in when the top guys got hurt, and the tried Bolland as the 2nd line center but it didn't really work out.

I have been pretty happy with the picks so far. having the extra 1st rounder helps, of course (cassels a big questionmark for me though).
still stunned over that trade. the saga isn't over in Vancouver, though Lou has been unbelievably profession through it all.... you'd have to figure he was confident that the end-game would have been different.

oh, drama for Schneider not over, either

Just to add onto the Luongo-Schneider fun, Lamoriello just told everybody that Brodeur is still New Jersey's No. 1.

YEAH BUT THE FOURTH LINE IN CHICAGO IS LIKE SECOND LINE ANYWHERE ELSE!!!111!!1

IMO, Bickell would have got more than 4 per on the open market. Good signing.

Home town discount. And Bryan Bickell, who has spent his entire pro career in the Hawks organization, absolutely stated that he wanted to stay with the Hawks. If he got $4 million a year, it's about $1.2 million more than I think he should get...especially after making $650,000 the past three years.

Hawks need to resign Kruger, Leddy, Rozsival and Emery. Crawford makes only $2.666 million a year, so I don't know what Emery will command on the free agent market. We all know he went 17-1 with a 1.94 GAA last year, but he's still a backup goalie. Does anyone think he will get a starting job somewhere else? If he can and does, then good luck to him and good luck to the team that thinks Ray Emery will get you to the promised land. Personally, I think he had an outstanding year, but played for a really great team. I'm thinking he deserves a raise, but certainly not more than Crawford makes. Should be interesting as to those negotiations go.

Hey, Happy Canada Day! I'll be celebrating in the most southeast portion of Canada.

Reading more on Lazar and it seems that skating is a strength with this kid.

Strong skakting, good defensive game, leadership qualities and high compete level. Sounds like a Mike Fisher type to me.

I'd most definitely be OK with a Fisher 2.0 on the Sens.

I guess I'm warming up to this pick.

When Bolland got hurt (as usual), Kruger stepped up to play on the second line, not Frolik.

Frolik played fourth liner all season. Bolland started out as second liner with Kane and Hossa, got hurt and when he eventually returned he was relegated to the fourth line, since Q had no other place to put him. Hawks had signed Handzus by then and Zeus was destined to play fourth line center. But Bolland was so bad and oft injured, Handzus got moved up and played second line center throughout the playoffs. Did a decent enough job too, may I add. Everyone said he was slow, but I didn't find him to be that slow. He's not Kane/Stalberg/Leddy fast, but Handzus kept up very well.

I'm honestly 1000000% shocked that the Letang situation isn't resolved one way or another.

Ohio is more Canada - like than Maryland.

I mean...Tim Hortons.

EDIT: Although you really could divide Ohio in half. Columbus/Toledo? Canada. Cinci/southern Ohio? Uhhh...not so much.
