I'm not saying they are total wastes. They are role players. Everyone needs players like them.

But the Hawks just saved $5.6 million of cap space for two fourth liners. Too much money for both of them.

So if they are BOTH 4th liners, then how come neither of them played on the 4th line?

On the Stanley Cup champs no less...

Now I want to see Toews moved for a 5th round pick and a 3rd line player just for the spin! :)

Well, one thing we know is once he is no longer a Hawk, he's gonna SUCK. The turncoat.

The only faster way into the landfill is to leave Buffalo

And everyone in Chicago knows that Viktor Stalberg will be gone as soon as he gets any decent offer. Q and him had a falling out sometime during the playoffs, with Stalberg a healthy scratch for four playoff games.

Hawks roster at 17 right now (including some minor leaguers on the roster).

Needs:

1 Sign 1 backup goalie (Emery or Finnish MVP Antti Raata).
2 Sign 2 defensemen (RFA Nick Leddy, UFA Michael Rozsival, an AHL'er like Adam Clendening, Dylan Olsen (ick) or Ryan Stanton.
3 Sign 2 centers (AHL leading scored Brandon Pirri should be a shoo-in as second line center...Marcus Kruger can also play center as a fourth liner although he's an RFA).
4 Sign 2 wingers (AHL'er Ben Smith should be one...maybe Jeremy Morin or Jimmy Hayes is the other). Bryan Bickell a big must-sign.

Hawks also have Daniel "Carbomb" Carcillo and Bryan Bollig signed.

Hawks in a real good situation cap wise. At this point, they are $13 million under the cap.

You weren't watching. They both played on the fourth line in the playoffs...along with RFA Marcus Kruger.

Handzus took Bolland's place as second line center. Needed size, scoring and a better faceoff man in the dot. Basically, Bolland lost his job.

Pens draft Jake Guentzel with the 77 pick overall. USHL rookie of the year 2012-2013. Supposed to have high hockey IQ, but under sized.

ugh. Nucks take Andrew Glassels' son.
dropped from mid-term ranking #60 to #120 in North American skaters.
without looking it up, missed time due to injury no doubt.

Cole Cassels | Cole Cassels Profile | Cole Cassels Scouting Report 2013

On a roster laden with offensive talents such as that of the Oshawa Generals, it is refreshing to see a player such as Cole Cassels flourish, one who prides himself on being more of an agitator and is a strong penalty killer. The son of former NHL player Andrew Cassels, Cole does not employ the same point production that his father had during his OHL career with the Ottawa 67's, but he has found himself to be useful in other ways. Cassels thrives on playing a physical game that allows him to be one of the more feared players on the ice when he is out there.

Doesn't sound much like his old man.

Neither Domi or Rychel are like their pops either.

Although, I wouldn't mind Kerby having a bit of dad's snarl.

Blackhawks resign Bryan Bickell for four years. First reports say $3.8 million a year. About a million more than I thought he would get. Wow.

Bickell signed four year deal? With the Hawks?

Best signing ever.
