I think I would have picked Shinkaruk Dash but Poirier should be a good player down the road for the Flames. His speed is world-class.

Okay, okay...back from the world's LONGEST PIRATE GAME. Tried staying up to date, but the network was jammmmmed up. I saw TK for draft pick (not a bad one IMO), Bolland to TOR, Schneider to NJ (WOoooooah baby!), and some nice picks for picks. I assume that's it? I know Letang is still sort of up in the air?

No one is surprised you proclaim Bolland and Frolik are complete wastes, but I commend you on not claiming the random dude they got to be the next mega-star in this league.

I agree with him that getting rid of Bolland was the right move. However with only one year left on his contract they could have afforded Frolik.

I don't hate it but I'm not crazy about the Lazar pick for the Sens. He's safe and will play in the NHL, which is good at pick 17, but I think he tops out as really good 3rd liner, or possibly as a decent 2nd liner.

With the young depth the Sens have I would have liked to see them try to hit a homerun. This seems a little too safe to me. They have a full stable of guys who will fill the lines for the foreseeable future. They need guys who have the upside to true first liners. I don't see that with Lazar but I guess we'll see what a few years of development can do.

Garth then drafts two goalies I've never heard of after signing a goalie this morning.
He drafts the leading scorer in the USHL. Who happens to be 5 feet 7 inches tall. The odds are against him.
The only good thing to happen to my team today was they drafted Pulock.

A surprise would be nice. I do like the forward they took in the 5th round though. THN had him ranked 91st overall.
