right before he jukes Adams out of his socks and Adams hurts himself trying to make a play. 50% of the time he is out.
We used our first four picks on depth, waited until round 4 to fill huge holes. They did it backwards, thats why its disappointing draft #12 out of 14Bummed out that I wasn't able to be active and talk through our picks w/ you gents but have been super busy of late... Here are a few of my thoughts on our picks...
Round 1: No. 5 (from DEN) – Devon Witherspoon, CB, Illinois
Round 1: No. 20 – Jaxon Smith-Njigba, WR, Ohio St
- #1 rated CB - what can you say... A mini version of Jalen Ramsey, imo... I understand what we picked him there with the way he wears his heart on his sleave... He's tough, smart, speedy, great insticts, etc... My only concern with him is his style of play translating to the NFL level... Mainly due to him not shying down as a hitter on the field... He's going to be hitting bigger dudes on a regular basis at this level like, Deebo Samuel, D. Hopkins, D. Henry, J. Brown, etc so I hope his body can endure the hits on those players with his 181lb frame... A. Winfield did play for #14 years with the same build but he didn't hit like a freight train like Witherspoon can/will.... One thing is for certain - practice will be like old school Seattle with the LOB with DW trash talking all day long.
Round 2: No. 37 (from DEN) – Derick Hall, DE, Auburn
- Love this pick... I was going back and forth in my mock on whether or not to take him at #20... He's NFL ready and runs crisp, sound routes... Perfect type of receiver for our slot position... Lockett and DK working the outside, while JSN working the slot? Watch out... Oh and BTW, Noah Fants/Dissley working the middle of the field? Teams are going to have to play safety over the top when Lockett/DK are on the edges, leaving a great route runner in JSN to work the middle... Our WR core has be top 3 in the NFL right now...
Round 2: No. 52 – Zach Charbonnet, RB, UCLA
- I'm not sure why some were disappointed with this pick... He's going to be a very good OLB for us, replacing B. Irvin from last season... He'll be joining the edge/OLB trio of Nwosu, Taylor and Mafe... He has a high motor, tons of speed, accompanied w/ a great bull rush and great leadership... Played 80% of the snaps last season, as well as a 4 year college player so he's NFL ready... Like Darrel Taylor, I don't see Hall taking plays off... I wouldn't be surprised if Hall ends ups getting more reps than DT and Mafe...
Round 4: No. 108 (from DEN) – Anthony Bradford, G, LSU
- Probably one of my favorite picks... He was projected by some to go as high as #23 to Minnesota... We have a legit thunder/lighting duo... Charbonnet is a tough runner who does not shy away from contact. Prides himself on being one of the hardest working guys in the locker room so he doesn't only have a toughness style at running the ball but his mentality is very tough, too... He’s a downhill runner who builds up speed, but he does have decent pop when trying to explode forward, largely due to the momentum he carries in his frame. He has great balance, which arm tackles just won't work against him. He's best between the tackles and gap running schemes so I can see him being used a lot down at the GL... Great at holding onto the ball with only 2 fumbles in 4 seasons... As some said his blocking is just as a tough as his running style and his high Football IQ allows him to read defenses well at the LOS...
Round 4: No. 123 – Cameron Young, DT, Mississippi State
- Watching video of this guy - he's a cheese-grater... I saw one play where he was pushing a DL down field like 15 yards (reminded me of the moving, Blind Side)... Very versatile, can play both tackles/guard positions on the right and left side of the ball... He's a very aggressive player with great feet work... In his words, he's an "Aggressively SMART player"... He ensures he's utilizing great technique and feet work when being aggressive... Great run blocker who just mauls people at the LOS... Safe to say he's here to help continue to launch our rushing attack on O...
Round 5: No. 151 (from PIT) – Mike Morris, EDGE, Michigan
- We finally got our NT, our beef in the middle of the defense to replace big Al Woods... Great run defender but not so much against the pass... Could work well as a 5-tech... Powerful prospect who gains positioning quickly against single blocks. He has the core power and contact balance to force double teams to work. Also, he does a nice job of fighting against wash-down blocks and maintaining gap integrity against zone, which is someone desperately needed in the trenches for the Hawks.
Round 5: No. 154 – Olusegun Oluwatimi, C, Michigan
- Much bigger DE than we're using to seeing on the Hawks which bodes well if we're going to remain in the 3-4 upfront defensive scheme. 6'6", 282lbs is the same exact size as Carlos Dunlap was... He'll be joining Dre'Mont Jones and Jarren Reed... Perfect fit on this team...
Round 6: No. 198 – Jerrick Reed II, S, New Mexico
- He was ranked as one of the best offensive lineman in the nation, winning the Outland and Rimington trophies as the best center in the nation. He also was rated as the best "Interior Lineman" in the nation on "Defense AND Offense"... pretty impressive resume... Assuming he becomes our starter, 4 of our 5 starters on the OL will either be a rookie or sophomore in the NFL... our OL is set for the next 4-5 years or so... We are going to run the ball down teams throats with this offense... pass pro seems to be one of his opportunities...
Round 7: No. 237 – Kenny McIntosh, RB, Georgia
- don't know much about this kid but always needing depth at Safety along with having some studs on special teams... He seems like a tough special teamer to me who can make plays when needed...
- Another guy that will find himself on the roster as a special teamer... He's not our Chris Carson who found his way into the starting lineup... He'll be a career backup/ST's player but some guys can make great careers in those roles....
Overall - I'm very happy with our draft... I didn't want to chime in after day 1 w/ out us doing what most of us thought we would - drafting defense, specifically DL until the rest of the draft played out... I give us a solid A for this draft...
We used our first four picks on depth, waited until round 4 to fill huge holes. They did it backwards, thats why its disappointing draft #12 out of 14
Witherspoon and JSN are not depth picks. You are being silly.
Snuggles will never be happy unless the draft is exactly how he dreams it in his head. Seahawks don't understand the draft the way Snuggles does.

lets revisit when we go down in flames because theres no run defense.Snuggles will never be happy unless the draft is exactly how he dreams it in his head. Seahawks don't understand the draft the way Snuggles does.
Damnit dude. I thought you were gonna have some awesome story for me about me saying dumb shit while drunk.Jesus 234... it was meant to be a joke.. and now you call me out in front of the whole board and embarrass me like this!?

I get the frustration with taking a corner at #5. But man, Witherspoon is going to be the real deal. Last night my friend texted me this;Mine is Weatherspoon.
I was talking to my old man about this. To the end of the year, teams wised up and started to throw away from Woolen. Attacking Jackson and Bryant.
They can't do that shit next year.
Also with the Run game. The dude is a ball seeking missle.
His lowest grade for any team was B- so A doesn't mean much? Sure, it's better to be the A than whatever lowest score there is.
After watching some videos on McIntosh, it makes me wonder how he fell so far. His running style honestly reminds me a lot of Chris Carson, but he's also a great receiver for a running back. If he was a bit quicker and had better straight line speed, he would've been a third round pick IMO.Goodbye Deejay Dallas... Mcintosh is a FAR better option. HUGE steal. Tremendous day 3.
IMO most of his best work was between the tackles. You don’t think Charbonett isn’t an inside back? I won’t pretend to know everything about the dude but against the Huskies and Cougs the dude was great inside.
It'll be interesting to see how they use Charbonnet. I think he's great between the tackles, and I personally love Kenneth Walker but I could see Charbonnet getting a lot of snaps on short yardage downs, in the red zone and on third downs. He's a better pass catcher and pass protector than Walker, and more consistent between the tackles IMO.I think the NFL will push him more outside the tackles.
since 2016, CBs taken #5 or higher have a pretty good track record. It's old thinking that CBs don't warrant top 5 picks. If remaining healthy, Witherspoon should make an immediate impact.I get the frustration with taking a corner at #5. But man, Witherspoon is going to be the real deal. Last night my friend texted me this;
"Witherspoon was the highest-graded cornerback in the Power Five last season. In Press coverage for 107 snaps, he allowed just one yard in coverage on those plays."
At first I thought that was an error, but no, per PFF's data he was that fucking good.
How were those depth picks? They were needed picks, imo... Were you wanting Michael Jackson to remain the starter at CB? Who was our slot WR going into this season? Dareke Young? Depth reminds me of, "bench" players... These picks are definitely not bench players... All 4 are going to get a lot of snaps/PT...We used our first four picks on depth, waited until round 4 to fill huge holes. They did it backwards, thats why its disappointing draft #12 out of 14
