I'll still stand by my F grade.. It was the least valued position on the team... but we didn't really have a lot of great options at #5 so maybe I overreacted... I still can't give it a positive grade.

AND 234, you should support me! I saved you in 2017's incident.. I didn't expect this from you..
2017's incident? You'll have to give me a reminder.

I get your perspective. We desperately need(ed) an impact defensive lineman. Would it have been better to select Witherspoon's equivalent on the defensive line? Personally, I say yes. But I will say we did get a guy who is going to be really good. I get that you hate it from a "needs" perspective, but I'm telling you that I really do believe that Witherspoon could be a Pro-Bowl caliber player his rookie year.

From a "needs" perspective, it's a C- from me. Michael Jackson was nothing special and I actually think the evaluation of Coby Bryant's rookie year might be a tad overrated. From a talent perspective, I think at #5 it's an appropriate spot.

I will say that I really like how our secondary is looking right now.

One pick I really like by the Seahawks is Olusegun Oluwatimi, C from Michigan.

Dude won a ton of awards yet seemed to fall likely as a result of him having played exclusively center. He won the Rimington Trophy (best center in college football), and the Outland Trophy (best interior lineman on offense or defense). That puts him in some pretty damn good company.

Well the main thing they to do is get the current pieces to work together.

We really don't know what they plan to do this season. My guess is they plan to have Jamal Adams playing LB a lot.

They got a lane stuffer with Young. He won't do much more than that but a 2 gap NT doesn't need to make a lot of plays. Provided the other guys step up. They are really banking being able to use a defend from the back approach to defense. Now, in truth, that was basically what we had in the Super Bowl era. And we might wind up having a better pair of corners on the outside than we ever had with the LOB. Sherm's a HoFer but the other side was always a bunch of decent players that got backed up by having Early in the back.

Our defense will not be very good next year barring some absolute lottery ticket power ball type wins with some players. But our offense could be very very good next season and that matters.

Kiper gave our draft an A

Which isn't surprising given we had 4 picks in the first 60.

I think they said it right on Brock and Salk when it comes to the 1st round picks. They didn't fight with the draft. They took the BPA at those slots that made sense. If they didn't like Carter, I honestly don't see any other player worth being taken outside of another CB. I think Wilson has way too much risk and is redundant to what we have.

There is a reason why CBs are drafted early.

His lowest grade for any team was B- so A doesn't mean much? Sure, it's better to be the A than whatever lowest score there is.

Mine is Weatherspoon.

I was talking to my old man about this. To the end of the year, teams wised up and started to throw away from Woolen. Attacking Jackson and Bryant.

They can't do that shit next year.

Also with the Run game. The dude is a ball seeking missle.

You mean 2nd round (we traded our 3rd for the Broncos 4th and their 2024 3rd which was pretty nice).

Zach Charbonnet was a good pick though. We HAVE to get more reliable depth behind Walker otherwise we're going to break him. Like Walker Zach is NOT an inside runner but that's okay given that was not our MO last year.

Also, Zach is a pretty damn good blocker from what I read and excellent receiver.

Given: Lockett, Metcalf, Jaxon (might have the best WR trio in the league now, find me one better), Fant, Dissly, Parkinson, Walker, Charbonnet, and Lucas/Cross/Brown/Lewis/Haynes and the depth we have thanks to our 4th round pick... Seattle's offense is going to be scary to go against... There's SO many weapons and packages you can deploy with the above.
You don’t think Charbonett isn’t an inside back? I won’t pretend to know everything about the dude but against the Huskies and Cougs the dude was great inside.

I think the NFL will push him more outside the tackles.

right before he jukes Adams out of his socks and Adams hurts himself trying to make a play. 50% of the time he is out.

Well draft grades in general are worthless. Just something to talk about really.
