Oh I still hate the Witherspoon pick... F GRADE!

As for the Jaxon pick, I mean I could swallow it... it was okay, we did have a major need after Lockett/Metcalf (and Lockett was injured).

Hall was okay, just that... okay. If they convert him to ILB I'll be happier about it. I really liked the Charbonnet pick as I have concerns about Walker staying healthy and a 3rd down VIABLE option (Homer [who I know is gone] and Dallas are potatoes, I'm so sorry - they aren't scaring anyone when they come in - might as well be a free play off for the defensive player having to 'check' them).

Picks today have been FANTASTIC. Loving it.

Was I ranting that hard yesterday with our 2nd round picks? Jesus... well I started drinking early. I know I lost it on Thursday...
It wasn't that pick specifically. You were convinced the lack of shoring up the D spelled doom.

I was a bit let down at 5, but I'm more concerned about 20. Hamstrings are the worst soft tissue injuries for WR's and he missed a whole season. That pick carries the most risk of bust because of it.

Either way, just keep being fired up for your team.

If we can stop the run, and get them to 3rd and long ,they gonna have to throw. Not gonna be easy with two shut down corners and Bobby lurking in the middle. Im happy....
Huge huge if

Jerrick Reed - S

Didn't really expect to see them draft a safety.

Reed isn't bad. Good athlete, needs to be coached up... could be a later round steal.

Hmm, I think our offense projects vastly better than our defense.

The OL is FAR better than our DL.
The runningbacks/TEs are FAR better than our linebackers can keep up with.
Our secondary and WR group I'd say is 1/1 but Witherspoon is unproven (despite being a top 5 pick) so let's not get too high and mighty there.

Offense should be electric. If we're not scoring 25+ points a game in the first few games to start the season and there's not major injuries, I'll be heavily concerned.

Point being, I would bet on Seattle's offense dominating Seattle's defense in a 1/1 matchup every time at this point.

So your saying adding guys like Hall/Morris and Young will have 0 to little impact on DL

I think the LB core is good especially with Bubba back now but the future needs to addressed in the next few years.

Agreed on the Passing side of things

Oh they'll have an impact, but if you're saying the defense is in the same shape as the offense (2 great WRs, one of the best slot corners drafted in the last 10 years, 2 great runningbacks, 3 decent TEs, and an OL now with depth and a bunch of above average lineman) you're out of your mind.

I don't think there was much chance that this draft could make the defense as good as the offense no matter what they did.

If we hit on most of our early picks then the Seahawks offense has a decent chance of being a Top 5 group. If we hit on every draft pick on the defensive side, we are still at best an above average team.

It sucks Penny was let go for such a small amount... I'm going to be annoyed if he finds the holy grail this offseason because he'll absolutely tear it up in Philly... but we had to find another QUALITY/high end RB. Dallas and/or Homer (who is gone granted) are NOT the answer. Not even close. They are "Oh shit mode" runningbacks. Homer was a quality blocker, but IMO he generally sucked at everything else and also got injured from time to time.

Zach offers the great blocking that Homer had, but is a far better runner/receiver. It's not even close. Walker is the starter, but Zach will reduce the load on Walker while offering an even bigger threat on 3rd down. And the great thing? When Walker goes on the bench and Zach comes in? It's not a guaranteed pass (like it was with Homer). It can still be a run.

Seattle now has the capability to cause panic/fits on the defense with those two switching in and out. Walker in will LIKELY be a run, but Zach comes in and you don't know what the fuck it is... and then all the TE sets that Waldron uses coupled with Jaxon moving all over the place slot wise? Jesus Christ...

DCs going against Seattle are going to have their hands FULL.
If this was the only guy in the draft than so be it but I'm sure they could have found another type player later in the draft.

Yeah, we had a drafted rb in the 7th round a decade or so ago that had a really good career. They are there, and maybe we still draft a rb in the 7th. You can never have too much depth there.
Rounds 4-7 are perfect to snag good RBs but what's done is done and hope this guy will help this offense.

Would I have taken a corner? No. Would we have been better off taking Tyree Wilson or Jalen Carter? Probably.

But with Witherspoon you're really getting a guy who day one is going to step in and potentially finish the year in the Pro Bowl.

Was it a glaring need? No. Did we get a guy who is going to be a really good player immediately with All-Pro potential? Yes.

Witherspoon has all pro written all over him. I have no issue with the pick but would have loved to trade down a couple of times

I'll still stand by my F grade.. It was the least valued position on the team... but we didn't really have a lot of great options at #5 so maybe I overreacted... I still can't give it a positive grade.

AND 234, you should support me! I saved you in 2017's incident.. I didn't expect this from you..

I agree. When you watch his All-22 tape, you see a guy who is able to absolutely delete WRs from the play. I was particularly impressed by his ability to not give up separation after WRs would break in their route. He really never gave up any separation.

I think this draft is as good as we could have hoped for. While cb wasn't a need, per se, we have Woolen and some guys that we want to be optimistic about. Now we have a legit tandem and those depth guys will be great nickles and dimes. My hype level right now is through the roof
