Yes and it certainly makes sense keeping him there for a few reasons.

    1. The Mariners farm system is overloaded with outfield prospects and nothing at 1B in the top 30 aside from White.
    2. I know defense doesn't really matter as much at first, but he projects to be an immediate gold glove contender there.
    3. He's currently ranked by MLB pipeline as the 2nd best first base prospect in baseball.

Thank god. Usually they move guys around after some called know it all decides the kid would be better at 3rd base or the outfield

If and when you decide to come to T-town and take in a Rainier's game I think you'll like it for a few reasons. 1) ticket price is pretty decent around 14-15 bucks for good seats 2) fun to watch upcoming talent and 3) not near the crowds and better price and parking is a breeze in comparison. I usually get over for a couple 2-3 games each month. The stadium has had a lot of work done to it over the last few years so it make for a pretty nice time.

I am excited that our AA is killing it. This may sound very dumb but what about the philosophy of keeping the team and camaraderie together and moving them up to the next level as a group? I'm not talking about promoting the entire team but we can identify the 7-9 players that are playing ball so how about promoting those players as a unit and bring the winning mentality with them? then if they still win and continue to play well they can promote to the majors as a team?

I think just promoting a single player to the next level and expecting him to just pick up where he left off going from a team that was winning to a team that is losing doesn't seem like it would work?

Oh ya, then I can understand you not wanting the drive because you can’t really attend a Rainiers games without getting a few beers. Construction is definitely confusing at the I-5/16 so if you ever do decide I’d recommend trying an afternoon game.

That’s really a bad idea or really unprecedented. The Royals and Cubs did that. The only issue with bringing them all up is you kind of need to bring them all up a year before you think you will contend and let them start and struggle for the year unlike what the Mariners have done with so many guys and call them up but not use them everyday, which to Jerry’s credit it seems Vogelbach is really the only prospect he has done that with.

Realistically the only other spot he could switch to is the outfield which wouldn't make any sense given the organizational depth we have at OF and nothing aside from White at 1B. When you look at the Mariners farm system, the top 4 position players are Kelenic (OF), White (1B), Julio Rodriguez (OF) and Kyle Lewis (OF).

Considering the Mariners already have Mallex Smith, Mitch Haniger and Domingo Santana in the OF in the majors, it wouldn't make sense to move White to the outfield.

Evan White doesn't fit the traditional mold of a first baseman, but I think that's where he should be.

I've never been to a minor league game so I'm really looking forward to the opportunity and will do my best to attend one this year. I think I'd really like it a lot because I ironically loved the game I attended at Tropicana Field because it had a very intimate atmosphere due to the small stadium and crowds.

Yeah if I went I would probably get a few friends together and split a hotel room or see if my uncle and cousins want to go to one together (they live in Tacoma). My uncle hosts our family Thanksgiving party every year and I somehow always fuck up with all of the construction down there.

From what I've read it actually appears the organization wants to keep some of those guys together. I can't recall exactly who, but I think they want to bring them along at the same pace.

I don't really have a strong opinion on the idea, and I can see merits of keeping the team and camaraderie together, but I do think each player should be evaluated on their own merits. Some guys need more time in the minors than others and I think you could run into the issue of holding X guy back because Y player needs a bit more seasoning.

It would be great if everyone developed at the same pace and you could keep those guys together, but some players do develop faster than others.

You aren’t the only one. It seems like every few months they change the lane you have to be in to get to 16. I’ve ended up on 16, The Tacoma Mall and Union Avenue all because they keep changing crap.

At least that makes me feel a little less incompetent.

Could also be because over the past 10 years I've probably only gone through that area maybe 15-20 times.

I-5 by the Tacoma Dome seems like it has been under construction since I was a kid. It’s just weird now with the Cloverleaf system they have and it can get confusing cause it seems to change which lane you need to be in.
