Imagine Geskicki and Pitts out there at the same time. This is the key very tough to match up to that. This is why the patsies signed two good TE's and the Fins could be even better.
Still think there are more pressing needs, JMO.

Two picks in the top 20 of this draft and two early picks in the 2nd round along with a 3rd, 5th and two 7th rounders. This has the makings of another good draft for the Fins! Great job Chris Grier & other FO staff! Let's go Fins!
What extra picks do fins have and from who in 2022?

psaboy,

What do you see as the team's most pressing needs?

2023 is when the Fins get extra 1st and 3rd round picks.

The nice thing is that they can afford to go in many different directions especially with another first and two seconds. But we all know that they need some playmakers as well big time. I'm actually torn between Parsons on D and Pitts on O as both could win them games but I guess if Parsons can be that pass rusher they need he may be favored by the touch. Sure they could take another olineman but do they really need one at 6? By dropping back I really wouldn't be mad at anything they take there as they are playing with house money now. They may even drop again from 6 or 18 who knows?

I really would like to see a high level WR. As long as Tua can deliver a ball, that would be best IMO.

They may go that way but with a deep WR draft they could probably wait until 18. Besides Pitts could basically be that just a big WR/TE do it all creating mismatches. Who knows they may go oline since moving to 6 but I'd be surprised unless Sewell slides to them but I think they can shore it up later with a C.

Imagine TE Darren Waller on the Fins roster. That's who Pitts will probably be like. Sometimes a top TE can be like having #1 WR on your roster. He will be too big and strong for CBs and too fast for LBs. Rowe had two bad games all year covering TEs. One of the games was against Waller. Both Waller and Smith have excellent releases coming off the line of scrimmage. The top CB from Bama couldn't cover him. He was consistently productive.

QB Brissett will be a solid backup. The Fins are giving Tua a vote of confidence. As a spot starter Brissett is capable if he is called upon.

RB Brown brings a more physical element to his runs compared to our current guys. Although our current RBs have all averaged over 4 yards a carry and are capable of finding the end zone. I am expecting the Fins to add one of the top RBs from this draft and it could take the RPO approach to another level.
Pitts is 6'6 240+ pounds, ran a 4.46 40. Consistently beats LB'ers and CB's. Massive catch radius. Strong hands. Polished route runner. Willing blocker in run game, but it is not his strength.

I was thinking about the Fins #18 pick. It could be a pass rusher. The Fins defense was a top scoring defense and very good at getting turnovers but as far as getting to the QB the team needs an upgrade. Flores was at the Canes pro day. They have some of the best DEs in college football.

This leads me to believe that the team could wait until the 2nd round for a RB unless they make another trade. We know that the top 3 would all be good choices Harris, Williams, and Etienne. If those guys aren't available with that early second round pick Rhamondre Stevenson would be my pick based on the team need. I think he's a powerful short yardage RB. I like the M. Brown addition but the Fins need another RB for production and depth.

Pitts is going to be a good one.. I think he will be gone by 18

I don't think anyone thinks Pitts will be available at pick 18. If the Fins choose him it would be pick 6.

I think our biggest need is DE but we can’t pass on a pass-catcher with our first pick. I like Pitts as a WR, and he’d make Parker expendable in 2022.

I think you could be right. I am thinking you could get a couple freaks of nature with your 6th and 18th picks in areas of need.

#6 - Kyle Pitts, TE (complete freak pro day workout) 6'6" 240 - 4.46 40
#18 - Jayson Oweh, EDGE (complete freak pro day workout) 6'5" 257 - 4.39 40
#36 - Travis Etienne, RB (I think he very well could be there the way other positions are rising up the board)

I like 2 of your picks if RB Harris is off the board. I wouldn't pick Oweh at 18. I would rather have production over potential. Oweh is a DE that had no sacks last year and 20 tackles.

I would rather have Rousseau. He had 15.5 sacks in 2019 with 54 tackles. He didn't play last year but he knows how to get to a QB. Also he's about 15 pounds bigger than Oweh.

I'm seeing Pitts and Rousseau being mocked to the Fins and completely fine with that. I'd also be blown away if they could pull off Pitts and Parsons. They have the power to do that.

With the #6, they need to get either Pitts or Smith/Chase.
With the #18th, they need to go after a RB.
Use your 2nd's and 3rd on Defense/Pass Rushers

I wouldn't mind that approach with pick 6. The Fins are guaranteed one of those 3 at pick 6 and any of those guys would make a big impact.

It's nearly certain that they would land RB Harris at 18. If Rousseau is there at 18 then the decision gets harder for me because I think that RB Williams could also complement the Fin's current group of RBs well and there is a chance that he is there at 36 or they could trade up after Harris is picked or wait until 50 and pick RB Stevenson.

I am not sure who will be available to help the pass rush in the 2nd or 3rd round. However, when you have a very good secondary it gives the team more time to generate a pass rush. Also. Flores is a creative coach who knows defenses. That said I think Rousseau will be disruptive and if he slides the Fins should consider him with the second pick to put more pressure on opposing offenses. In 2019 only one player in college had more sacks and that was Chase Young.

Personally I think pass rushers are more important than RB's and its a money position. Plus you can get a RB in the 2nd round that would still be very good but harder to get that monster on D. I want either Parson's with that second pick if he's in range trade up or a guy like Rousseau would be great too. The other option is to go Parsons at 6 and grab a WR with the 2nd pick...although I'm liking Pitts and he would be gone by then.

Jamin Davis is looking really good at 18 if he’s there.

The Falcons seem interested in Pitts. The Bengals will probably pick Chase. That could mean the Fins have their choice between Sewell, Smith and Waddle.

It's a good position to be in for the Fins when a consolation pick is a WR who won the Heisman trophy. He looked great running routes and catching the ball at the pro day.

Sewell at OT wouldn't be a bad choice either.

Waddle's injury makes me nervous but he has elite speed and could be a big time playmaker. He hasn't worked out to show he's healthy. I think playing hurt in the championship game was a bad idea.
