In my opinion, the smartest move for Rodgers is to focus on getting into top shape and sit out the start of the season. Every year, we see two or three strong teams lose their starting quarterback for most—or all—of the season. By mid to late October, I’d expect a few attractive opportunities to open up. Waiting for the right situation would give him a better shot at success. Plus, joining a team midseason means fewer games, which could be a real advantage at this stage in his career.
in my opinion, NFL football is team first.
Screw Aaron Rodgers...the other 52 count much more.

Crazy. It is such a bad fit that I didnt think it would happen.

....and as soon as I hit Post Reply, I thought to myself that I am likely to be the dumb one in my fantasy league that takes Metcalf way too early because of this.

You guys can claim doom all you want. The Steelers have a top 5 defense, a great running game, got DK Metcalf… It’s like Brady in Tampa, Rodgers doesn’t have to be a 300 yard 3 TD guy. They win 10+ games this year IMO

A great running game? I wouldn’t call the Warren/Johnson/Gainwell backfield great, no clear RB1, Johnson might be that but who knows. And only having one strong receiver is a problem. The D is great so a 10 win season is possible if Rodgers still has some left in the tank, but the Steelers don’t have enough to be a serious AFC contender.

Thank god the Bengals don't open the season against The Steelers this year. If they did, I would guarentee Rodgers throws for 4 TDs and the entire week of NFL media would be focused on "Maybe ARod is Back".

The Steelers averaged 127 yards rushing per game last year, that's 11th in the league. If you consider "great" to be "elite" or top 3, that's not how I meant it. I meant as in extremely serviceable,.. And in that manner it's true.

Combining an "extremely servicieable" running game with an elite defense gets you in the playoffs every year pretty much, and the Steelers do make the playoffs every year pretty much. I think Rodgers has more upside than Russ did.

I have the Steelers winning 10+ games and possibly finally getting past the first round of the playoffs this year.

actually. They did better than I perceived & I did think you were saying a high end running team.
but
you had more mobile QBs (fields is a running QB) which naturally helps a rbs/team rushing stats.
this year that will be non existent. Also the steelers lost their main RB who had half the yards of the whole team.
Warren has 500 yds. plus a rookie. being optimistic for the Running game. Sure, ok. But it is definitely a question mark going into this year.
