Younger fans probably... But the ones on here have already punted this season so at this point its all just comedy.
If you're punting, then what are you hoping for in the draft? Roll with Rudolf and hope for a top pick and win the Arch Manning lottery? I'd imagine you want to go RB in the top two rounds with that class being deep, and then what? Oline? WR? Then trade Pickens for '26 draft capital?

I'm hoping they get a DT in the 1st Rd. Their run defense has been painfully bad, and they can't keep relying on Cam Heyward to keep turning back the clock. They've overhauled the OL, and now its time to overhaul the DL before its too late. I'm always for investing in the trenches.

I'd be fine with trotting out Rudolph this year... In hopes they bomb hard enough to get a top pick next year. But the main problem is this team doesn't know how to lose more than half their games. So the best we can hope for is 15th-18th pick. With that in mind, I think they have to at least throw a dart at one of these day 2 QBs in this draft: Dart, Howard, Milroe, etc. They would have to trade back into the 2nd Rd to achieve that though.

Draft needs: QB, DT, RB, CB

I've heard a lot of Milroe chatter to the Steelers. It's an intriguing landing spot for him. Would you be ok with a low floor, high ceiling guy that you'd be hitched to for 3'ish years at least?

JJ better be good. Apparently Rodgers wanted to start and play mentor for a year. Honestly, Rodgers on the Vikings would be dangerous for the league. It’ll be hilarious if jj sucks.

I'm not a big fan of Milroe. Seems like a poor man's Cam Newton. Accuracy issues, but I think the Steelers are just enamored with the mobile QBs anymore. I'd rather they take a shot on Dart.

I like Dart too. It's very odd that the NFL invited Milroe to the green room for the nfl draft, and there is a ton of speculation that it means Milroe to the Steelers in the 1st round. That sounds like pure insanity to me.

Milroe going in the first round would be one of the stupidest decisions any team has ever made if they selected him. The dude cannot throw it. He’s very reminiscent of Anthony Richardson, a player who gets overvalued because of his running ability and athleticism but who cannot play QB. Milroe will never be franchise QB material and I doubt he would even be a good backup QB. Surely no team is stupid enough to waste a high pick on him.

I think he has some potential to be accurate. I wouldn't compare him to AR at all. AR only played started 13 games in college and I don't think anyone is claiming that he is an intelligent athlete. Milroe started 27 games, and is considered a high IQ and high character prospect, which is exactly what you would want in a prospect that still needs some polish. Milroe has the traits you can't teach, and if he has the intellect to be coached up. I'm not saying that he would definitely be a star, and it is definitely in the range of his potential outcomes. Lamar Jackson wasn't so highly touted that he fell to pick 32 in the first round and look at him now.

Lamar Jackson won the Heisman in college, it was absolutely stupid that he wasn’t picked higher - I figured he would be a very good pro QB. He was a much better college QB than Milroe. Maybe Richardson isn’t the best comparison but I just don’t think Milroe is a very good passer.

I agree that Milroe isn't great at passing, but it's tough to deny the upside.

What the Vikings are doing makes a lot of sense if JJ is going to be the next Patrick Mahomes. However, if JJ turns out to be the next Josh Rosen, Blaine Gabbert, or Matt Leinart...an opportunity will be wasted.

I'd rather find out now. Kicking the can down the road on this only will make it more difficult.

Let's just say the Vikings sign Rodgers, he plays well enough to win 10-11 games, we're another one-and-done in the playoffs and JJ plays very little. Then we are stuck with the exact same problem in 2026.

If he is to be a bust, I'd rather have him bust fast so we can start looking for a solution.

and 5 QBs went in the first round that year and 4 of them were still starters last year. It was kind of like the perfect storm that caused him to fall. Still odd though. He was expected to go mid first round.

"Rodgers justification makes no sense. The truth is: He’s afraid. If Rodgers is saying the Steelers aren’t contenders, then he’s actually saying they can’t be contenders with him. An admission that he’s no better at this point than Russell Wilson, Kenny Pickett, or Mason Rudolph — that he can’t be the difference maker the team needs. Wanting an easier job than that is both hilarious, and impossible to find — and he knows that."

I hope the Steelers draft Milroe. It will make their team irrelevant for the next 4+ years. I'd rather an NFC team do it.

Anyone that drafts Milroe in the 1st gets an auto F grade from me. He's a 3rd round (AT BEST) prospect. But go ahead and take the next Anthony Richardson, Justin Fields... lol. If Seattle drafts Milroe before round 7 I might just disappear on this forum as there's a 90.57% chance I'll collapse in on myself.

Agreed, Milroe going in the first round would be a joke. He’s definitely not Lamar Jackson or Jalen Hurts, he’s more likely to be someone like Fields or Richardson.
I’m just glad my Falcons got our QB last year as this is not a good year for QBs - I’m not even 100% sold on Ward and Sanders.

I'll gladly eat crow if I'm wrong.

I thought Russell Wilson was a stupid pick, and I thought Jackson would be a bust (although he's yet to do fuck all in the playoffs). :noidea: :noidea:

I also called Aaron Curry the next Lawrence Taylor.. :L :L :L :L not my proudest moment.

So Rodgers is clearly still mulling retirement... because the easy job isn't being offered. And at this point (just a week away from the draft), it's fair to say he is not interested in joining the Steelers.

My guess is he will disappear from the headlines until someone calls him in Training Camps or Preseason after an injury.
