I was thinking earlier how it might be good for him to follow McCann. Could give McCann a chance to see more strikes.

7th/8th/whatever.

Id be surprised to see Ausmus do it. Or to drop him that low in the order. Who knows?

Over the last ten days, Aybar has four hits and two walks.

In twelve plate appearances.

Romine is four for eight so far this series. Stole his Eigth bag in eight tries this afternoon. I think Iggy drove him in.

I'll take it.

Romine has been playing real good baseball for Atleast a month imo.

Prolly the best stretch of his career. Earning himself some money.

Verlander with a decent start. Imagine if he had 10-15 less HRs given up. He would be putting up Scherzer numbers if not better.

Not good. From CBSsports a couple days ago:

"The likelihood of 3B Nick Castellanos (broken hand) returning this season has lessened, after he felt discomfort on some swings during batting practice Monday at the minor league complex in Lakeland, Florida."

A decent start.....what were u watching?

Well, 11 K's in 6 IP is better than decent, but 115 pitches in 6 IP is not.

TeHsUcKs is spot-on, though. All of JV's numbers EXCEPT home runs allowed are among the best of his career. If he was giving up HRs this year closer to his career rate, he'd be the front-runner for Cy Young.

His career BA is creeping up to .250, albeit with almost no power. But he can play multiple positions, and unlike Raburn, he plays them all well. 8-for-8 in stolen bases this year, too.

Home runs have went from one every 31-34 ab's for pretty much ever to one every 27 abs this season. That huge jump is pretty consistent with JVs.

But yeah, even 3 or 4 less solo shots against and his ERA would be where it needs to be.

He's proven himself to be a solid utility man.

Id be alright with seeing him back.

Weird season series against the Twins this year. 9-0 in Minnesota, only 6-4 at home.

Three series left.....Tigers need to WIN them all. A 7-3 record over their final 10 should give them a real good shot at WC. HOWEVER....taking 3 out of 4 from Cleveland is not a given, so a sweep of KC and a split with the Tribe would work too. :)

How can u compare to the Cy Young year? He is not the same pitcher now. Wow he is in the Cy Young talk and not bad for a guy at lot of people had said he was trash a few years ago.....
