The guy just simply over thinks everything. Everyone talks about how smart Ausmus is... He is so busy overthinking every thing.. something as simple as runners on the corners with 1 out turns into a joke. If I was Romine I would have ignored the sign and swung the bat.

Another option for what happened: McCann screwed up.

I'd like to think a rookie just broke on the pitch rather than a suicide squeeze was called.

My guess is it was a badly executed squeeze.

I think Verhagen is going to give Rondon a run for the closer position next year... He has way better overall stuff.

I think it was too.

Didn't notice if Machado broke to second when McCann broke to home, or if he went when Jason came out to tag.

It just would be easier to understand if McCann made a mistake.

Rondon made it interesting. Glad Longiria swung at ball four.

Rondon doesn't throw enough strikes to be a closer. He is still young so that will most likely improve.. but I don't think he should be closing next year if he can't throw strikes. I honestly believe the Tigers have the guys in house to build an average bullpen. You only need 7 guys.

1. Wilson
2. Hardy
3. Rondon

Should be on the roster and can be good

1. Verhagen
2. Farmer
3. Ryan

7th guy could be a FA signing.. or another in house guy.. Maybe Lobstein/Boyd/Ferrell/Knudsen

I would much rather see a bullpen with an average age of 25-26 years old... than one filled with retreads and reclamation projects
